Supported Applications

The Omega PSW-190 Series consists of economical brass pressure switches designed for harsh environments. The cylindrical design features an epoxy-sealed electrical termination, enabling the switch to withstand rugged conditions.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The series covers adjustable ranges from 10 to 3000 psi across eight models. Maximum system pressure ratings are listed as 1500, 2500, or 8000 psi depending on the model, with proof pressures of 3000 or 10,000 psi.

Performance specifications vary by construction material:

• Buna-N Construction (Models PSW-191 to 194): Operating ambient range is -20 to 75°C (-4 to 167°F); media temperature limit is 70°C (158°F). Repeatability for models PSW-191, 192, 195, and 196 is ±1%.
• FKM or EPDM Construction (Models PSW-195 to 198): Operating ambient range is -20 to 80°C (-4 to 176°F); media temperature limit for FKM sensors is 120°C (248°F). Repeatability for models PSW-193, 194, 197, and 198 is ±1.5%.

The switch maintains setpoint after shock of 50 g with a 10 ms duration and vibration of 10 g from 5 to 500 cps. The aluminum enclosure features an irridite finish, rated for 100 hr salt spray, and is potted and gasketed for outdoor use.

Configuration Options

The PSW-190 Series offers configurable options across pressure ranges, wetted materials, process connections, and electrical outputs to meet specific installation needs.

• Pressure Ranges: Available in four primary spans: 10 to 150 psi (or 11 to 150 psi), 30 to 600 psi (or 33 to 600 psi), 100 to 1500 psi (or 110 to 1500 psi), and 180 to 3000 psi (or 198 to 3000 psi).
• Wetted Materials: Wetted parts include brass, O-ring, and diaphragm. Options are Buna-N construction or FKM/EPDM construction.
• Process Connections: Models PSW-191, 192, 195, and 196 feature a ¼ NPT connection; models PSW-193, 194, 197, and 198 feature a ½ NPT connection.
• Electrical Output: SPDT switch with gold-clad silver contacts rated at 5 A at 250 Vac or 30 Vdc. Supports loads down to 5 mA at 6 Vdc, 2 mA at 12 Vdc, and 1 mA at 24 Vdc.
• Electrical Connection: Available with a ½ NPT conduit or 500 (20) pigtail leads. Wire code is Blue for N.O., Black for N.C., and Violet for COM.

The series distinguishes models by pressure range, deadband, maximum system pressure, proof pressure, and construction material:

• Buna-N Models (PSW-191 to 194): PSW-191 covers 10 to 150 psi with a typical deadband of 2 to 10; PSW-192 covers 30 to 600 psi with a deadband of 8 to 60. High-pressure Buna-N models include PSW-193 (100 to 1500 psi, deadband 20 to 220) and PSW-194 (180 to 3000 psi, deadband 50 to 400).
• FKM/EPDM Models (PSW-195 to 198): PSW-195 covers 11 to 150 psi with a typical deadband of 2.5 to 11.5; PSW-196 covers 33 to 600 psi with a deadband of 9.5 to 69. High-pressure FKM/EPDM models include PSW-197 (110 to 1500 psi, deadband 23 to 253) and PSW-198 (198 to 3000 psi, deadband 57.5 to 460).
• Dimensions: Overall length is 32 mm (1.26 in). Dimension A varies by model: 103 mm (4.06 in) for PSW-191, 192, 195, and 196; 111 mm (4.37 in) for PSW-193, 194, 197, and 198.
