Supported Applications
The Omega LDI Series Linear Sensors are designed for linear position measurement. The series provides field programmability and calibration procedures suitable for displacement sensing applications requiring analog output signals.
Operating Conditions & Performance
These sensors operate on a 12-30 V DC excitation voltage, with a minimum requirement of 18 V DC when configured for the 4-20 mA current output. The series supports two primary analog output signals: 0-10 VDC and 4-20 mA. For the 4-20 mA configuration, the system utilizes a 3-wire sourcing architecture; it is specified not to connect this output to a 2-wire loop-powered system.
Field programmability allows for calibration adjustments within specific ranges: 0-20% around zero or 80-100% around full range. The default setting provides the standard analog output span without additional programming constraints at both ends of these ranges.
Electrical Specifications
- Excitation Voltage: 12-30 V DC (min. 18 V DC for 4-20 mA current output)
- Analog Output Options: 0-10 VDC or 4-20 mA
- Load Resistance: 250 Ohms or 500 Ohms
- Output Configuration Note: The 4-20 mA DC output is 3-wire sourcing; do not connect to a 2-wire loop-powered system.
Configuration Options
The LDI Series offers configurable electrical connections and calibration ranges. Sensors are available with either a 4-conductor cable or a PTO2-10 6-pin connector interface. The series supports CE certification for applicable markets.
Connection & Wiring Options
- Cable Type: 4-conductor cable
- Connector Option: PTO2-10 6-pin connector
- Pin Assignments (PTO2-10):
- Pin E: + Power Input (Red)
- Pin D: Common Ground (Black)
- Pin A: Analog DC Output 0-10 V or 4-20 mA (Green)
- Pin B: Field Programmability/Calibration (White)
Field Programming Ranges
- Range Option: 0-20% around zero or 80-100% around full range.
- Default Setting: Standard output span (0-10 VDC / 4-20 mA) without restricted end-range programming.
Key Product Differences
The LDI Series is distinguished by its dual-output capability and field-programmable calibration ranges. The series provides a choice between voltage (0-10 VDC) and current (4-20 mA) outputs, with the latter requiring specific power supply conditions (minimum 18 V DC). Variants differ primarily in their physical stroke lengths as indicated by model codes ranging from short strokes to extended travel distances.
Wiring configurations vary between a standard 4-conductor cable and an optional PTO2-10 6-pin connector, with specific color-coding or pin assignments defining power, ground, signal output, and calibration inputs. The series does not support 2-wire loop-powered systems for the current output variant.

Hi, could you please tell me how long the threaded end (M5x0.8) for installation is? Unfortunately there is nothing mentioned about this length in the spec sheet or manual. Please advise. Thanks, Manuela
Length of the M5x0.8 threaded area at end of the shaft is 9.7mm (0.38"0

Hi are you able to apply pressure to retract this product to zero position? (spring load, compressed air, etc) I only see one photo so I don't know if this possible.Thank you
Thank you for your inquiry, this unit isn’t spring loaded or pneumatic. Please see our model GP911-1-P

Do these sensors come with signal conditioners? If not, which signal conditioners do you offer are most compatible with these sensors?
No signal conditioning is required with these sensor. The output is already conditioned to either a 4 to 20 mADC or 0 to 10VDC signal

The "stud" came with insulation over the majority of its length. Is that to be left on or removed?
Thank you for your inquiry, yes, the insulation can be removed
