Operating Conditions & Performance

The Series LF252 is a 2 1/2" liquid-filled gauge with a Type 304 stainless steel case. It features an ABS dial with white background and black/red markings in psi and kPa, protected by a clear acrylic window. The internal tube material for this series is Type 316 Stainless Steel.

Performance specifications include:

• Accuracy: ±1.6% of span
• Ranges: Vacuum, Compound, and Pressure to 10,000 psi
• Filling Media: Glycerine (standard for +20°F to +150°F) or Silicone (special order for -40°F/150°F)
• Process Connection: 1/4" NPT bottom or center back

A warning in the documentation notes that glycerine can combine with strong oxidizing agents including chlorine, nitric acid, and hydrogen peroxide to result in an explosion. Users are advised to read ANSI B40.1 before installation.

Configuration Options

The Series LF252 is available as a direct-mount gauge or with specific panel mounting options:

• U-Clamp Mounting: Designated as Series LF251U and LF252U.
• Front Flange Mounting: Designated as Series LF251F, LF252F, and LF442F.

The series supports a broad envelope of pressure ranges from vacuum to 10,000 psi for the LF252 model. Wetted parts include Type 316 Stainless Steel tubes and sockets with threaded restrictors. The pointer is black anodized aluminum, and the movement is stainless steel.

Key Product Differences

The Weiss industrial gauge line includes several distinct series that differ in case size, accuracy class, tube material, and window type:

• Series LF251 vs. LF252: Both are 2 1/2" liquid-filled gauges with Type 304 stainless steel cases. The LF251 uses a Phosphor Bronze tube (to 6,000 psi) or 316SS tube (to 10,000 psi), while the LF252 utilizes a Type 316 Stainless Steel tube across its range.
• Series LF441 vs. LF442: Both are 4" liquid-filled gauges with ±1% of span accuracy (LF441) or 1% of span (LF442). The LF441 features a Phosphor Bronze tube and ranges to 1,000 psi; the LF442 uses Type 316 stainless steel tubes and ranges up to 15,000 psi. Window materials differ: clear acrylic for LF441 versus safety glass for LF442.
• Series LF602: A 6" liquid-filled gauge with a bayonet ring case, Type 316 stainless steel tube, and tempered glass window. It offers ±1/2% of span accuracy and ranges up to 15,000 psi.
• Series NF (Non-Filled): The NF series includes non-filled versions in 2 1/2" (NF252), 4" (NF402), and 6" (NF602) sizes. These feature bayonet lock rings, Type 316 stainless steel tubes, and accuracy ranging from ±1.6% to ±1/2% of span depending on the model.
