The Omega XBQ series comprises Insulation Displacement Connection (IDC) terminal blocks engineered for quick, reliable wire connections without stripping. Operating Conditions & Performance

The series supports two primary terminal widths: 5.2 mm (0.20") for the XBQT15/XBQU15 family and 6.2 mm (0.24") for the XBQT25/XBQU25 family. Electrical ratings vary by model, connection type, and standard:

• XBQT15 / XBQT15D22 Series: Maximum wire size 16 AWG/1.5 mm²; Connection Data rated at 800 V/17.5 A for 24-16 AWG; EN 50 019 rating of 550 V/16 A (24-16 AWG); UL-cUL rating of 600 V/10 A (24-16 AWG).
• XBQT25 Series: Maximum wire size 14 AWG/2.5 mm²; Connection Data rated at 800 V/24 A for 20-14 AWG; UL-cUL rating of 600 V/215 A (note: source lists "215" in the table row) or 600 V/15 A depending on connection type context.
• XBQU Hybrid Series: Combines IDC and screw connections. XBQU15 supports up to 12 AWG/2.5 mm²; XBQU25 supports up to 10 AWG/4 mm².

All models are CE, UL, and RoHS compliant. Technical data in accordance with IEC specifies a Rated Surge Voltage of 8 kV (Contamination Class 3) and Surge Voltage Category III for Insulating Material Group I.

Configuration Options

The XBQ series offers configurable options across terminal types, wire sizes, colors, and mounting accessories to accommodate diverse installation needs:

• Terminal Types: Single level IDC (XBQT15, XBQT25), 4-wire multi-conductor IDC (XBQT15D22), and hybrid IDC/screw connection blocks (XBQU15, XBQU25).
• Wire Sizes & Cross-Sections: Supports fine stranded to solid conductors. The 5.2 mm series handles 0.25 to 1.5 mm²; the 6.2 mm series handles up to 4 mm² for screw connections on XBQU models.
• Housing Colors: Gray and Blue variants are available (e.g., XBQT15BU, XBQT25BU).
• Mounting & Accessories: The series supports DIN rail mounting with rails sized 35 x 7.5 mm or 35 x 15 mm. Available accessories include end covers, plug-in bridges (2 to 50 positions), test adaptors, blank marker strips for external labeling, and various end stops.

Key Product Differences

The series distinguishes between single-level IDC blocks, multi-conductor configurations, and hybrid designs:

• IDC Only (XBQT): Models XBQT15 and XBQT25 provide standard Insulation Displacement Connection. The XBQT15D22 variant is specifically designed for 4-wire multi-conductor connections.
• Hybrid IDC/Screw (XBQU): Models XBQU15 and XBQU25 combine IDC technology on one side with a universal screw connection on the other, allowing mixed termination methods within the same block.
• Sizing Differences: The 5.2 mm width models accommodate wire sizes up to 16 AWG (IDC) or 12 AWG (screw), while the wider 6.2 mm models support up to 14 AWG (IDC) and 10 AWG (screw).
