Supported Applications

The Omega PSW2100 is an electronic pressure switch featuring a display module for field adjustment and configuration. The series supports pipe, container, and differential pressure measurement applications, as well as container level measurement.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The device operates on a 12-30VDC power supply with an aviation plug (M12*1, 5 pins) electrical connection. The maximum process pressure rating is P-MAX: 4 MPa. Storage conditions require temperatures between -40-185°F (-40-85°C) and a maximum relative humidity of 95%. The measurement range setting spans from -99999 to 99999, with configurable display units including kPa, MPa, Pa, bar, mBar, Psi, mmH2O, mmHg, Torr, and Atm.

Alarm Settings Function

The alarm settings function table defines the following configuration parameters:

  • SPx (OUT upper limit): Setting range -99999~99999; Upper limit value of transistor output.
  • RPx (OUT lower limit): Setting range -99999~99999; Lower limit value of transistor output.
  • SPDTx (OUT output delay): 0.0~60.0(S); Delay time before transistor output active.
  • RPDTx (OUT reset delay): 0.0~60.0(S); Delay time before transistor output reset.
  • Modex (OUT working mode): Configurable modes include no output, measured value > SPx with delay activation, and measured value < RPx with delay reset.

Configuration Options

The PSW2100 series offers multiple output signal configurations including 4-20mA, 1-5VDC, and two-way transistor outputs. The product overview specifies a two-way transistor output (PNP). Available variants include model codes such as PSW2100-005C, PSW2100-035E, PSW2100-1.5KC, PSW2100-400E, and others.

Signal Connection

The aviation plug (M12*1, 5 pins) pinout is defined as follows:

  • Pin 1: Power+
  • Pin 2: Transistor output 2
  • Pin 3: Power-
  • Pin 4: Transistor output 1
  • Pin 5: *Signal+

The signal connection table details wire colors and connections: brown (terminal 1) for positive power supply, white/blue/black/gray wires connecting to negative signal module or transistor outputs. For a 4-20mA + two-way NPN output configuration, the common port in specific steps is noted as the positive power supply.

Display Configuration

The display mode allows selection of auto optimal display or integer/decimal precision from one to four decimal places. The process unit can be set via codes 0 through 11 corresponding to various pressure units listed above.

Key Product Differences

Variants in the series are distinguished by their specific model suffixes (e.g., -C, -E) and numerical prefixes indicating different configurations or ranges. The active electrical level for transistor outputs is 2V lower than the power supply level; for example, a 24V power supply results in an active electrical level of 22V.

Installation notes indicate that zero point adjustment should be performed after installation to counter mounting position effects and reset annually. The device carries CE certification indicating alignment with EU standards (EMC equipment instructions 2014/30/EU).

Will this switch work with a 4 pin M-12 connector?

Asked by: CSGPP
This pressure switch requires a 5-pin M12 female connector. It will not interface with a 4-pin M12.

Just purchased a PSW2100-150C, I'm not getting a 4-20mA output, reads 21.1V open circuit and plugged into an measurement unit. Do I need to enable the output? Signal connection diagram is incorrect, Pin 3 RET pin 5 SIG 2 SW2 4 SW1

Asked by: Mark123456
You should not have to enable the 4 to 20mA output. A wiring issue may be causing the problem. Reviewing the manual and will make corrections. Advise you contact us at pressure@omega.com with your contact information so we can respond directly with the resolution of this issue

Is this product capable of external visual warning/monitoring? As in output wired to 2-3 LEDs a couple feet away that read under pressure, good pressure, and/or overpressure? If not, could you point me in the direction of a product that does. Thank you.

Asked by: Greg14
The two on board transistor output can be wired to switch the power being used to drive the unit to also drive external alarm devices.
