Supported Applications

The Dwyer Series DP Adjustable Differential Pressure Switch monitors the difference between two pressure sources to actuate one or two SPDT snap-action switches. These controls are used in applications involving flow through orifices, venturis, heat exchangers, condensers, and filters.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The series features a double bellows design for sensitivity and vibration resistance with non-interactive external set/reset controls. Ambient operating temperature ranges from -10 to 180°F (-23 to 82°C). Measurement capabilities span differential pressure ranges of 0-10 psid (0-0.7 bar), 0-20 psid (0-1.4 bar), and 0-30 psid (0-2.1 bar) for standard models, with extended working pressures up to 600 psig available in specific configurations.

Deadband specifications vary by range and switch type:

• Range 61 (Brass): Adjustable deadband minimum of 1.5 PSID; Fixed deadband of 0.5 PSID for one SPDT or 0.6 PSID for two SPDT.
• Range 62 (Brass): Adjustable deadband minimum of 2.5 PSID; Fixed deadband of 1.0 PSID.
• Range 64 (Brass): Adjustable deadband minimum of 6.0 PSID; Fixed deadband of 1.5 PSID.
• Range 62E (316 SS): Adjustable deadband minimum of 3.0 PSID; Fixed deadband of 1.5 PSID for one SPDT or 2.5 PSID for two SPDT.
• Range 64E (316 SS): Adjustable deadband minimum of 6.0 PSID; Fixed deadband of 2.0 PSID for one SPDT or 2.5 PSID for two SPDT.
• Range 65E: Working pressure range 30"Hg.Vac.-600 psig with adjustable differential between 0-80 PSID and deadband minimums of 20, 6, or 8 PSID depending on switch configuration.

The series carries CE and cULus approvals. Maximum pressure ratings correspond to the operating range specified for each model (e.g., 50 psig for Range 61, up to 300 psig for Ranges 64/64E).

Configuration Options

The Series DP is configurable across several dimensions including bellows material, enclosure type, and electrical ratings.

• Bellows Material: Brass (Ranges 61, 62, 63) or 316 Stainless Steel (indicated by suffix 'E' in Range No., e.g., 62E, 64E).
• Housing & Enclosure: Flanged steel housing available as General Purpose, Weatherproof (suffix W), or Explosion-proof (suffix E). Weights range from 5 lb (2.3 kg) for general purpose to 7 lb (3 kg) weatherproof and 25 lb (11 kg) explosion-proof.
• Process Connections: 1/8" female NPT for general purpose and weatherproof; 1/4" male NPT for explosion-proof types. Conduit openings include a 7/8" hole or 3/4" female NPT depending on enclosure type.
• Electrical Output: SPDT snap-action switch with ratings up to 15A @ 120/240 VAC (Suffix -153) or 5A AC / DC variants (Suffix -804). Electrical connections utilize screw terminals.
• Adjustment Features: Visible scale with pointers indicating set pressure differences in psi, adjustable via two knurled knobs. Reset adjustment is available at a 45° angle.

Key Product Differences

The series distinguishes between the DPA-7000 and DPS-7200 model families based on wiring configuration and switch placement:

• DPA-7000 Series (e.g., DPA-153, DPA-804): Wiring terminals arranged as C-H-L or L-H-C depending on the suffix.
• DPS-7200 Series (e.g., DPS-153, DPS-804): Features a front switch configuration of H-C-L and includes a back switch option for dual SPDT models. The DPS-7200 series also features an arrow indicator on the switch operating display.
• Suffix Codes: Suffix -153 denotes 15A AC capacity; suffix -804 denotes lower current ratings (5A). Range numbers ending in 'E' indicate a 316 SS bellows construction, while standard range numbers utilize brass.
