Supported Applications
The Omega ALTA Wireless Water Detection Puck Sensor is designed to detect the presence or non-presence of water. The sensor completes a circuit between two probe points on its bottom surface when submerged, triggering an RF radio to transmit data to a wireless gateway and the iMonnit Online Sensor Monitoring and Notification System. This configuration enables remote monitoring with alerts delivered via SMS text message or email.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The sensor operates within a maximum temperature range of -18°C to 55°C (0°F to 130°F), with an optimal operating window defined as +10°C to +50°C (+50°F to +122°F). Detection is triggered when water levels reach approximately 3mm depth. The device features a response time of ~3 seconds and maintains wireless connectivity over distances exceeding 1,000 ft non-line-of-sight, though actual range may vary depending on the environment.
Power is supplied by an internal 3.6V 1200 mAh Lithium battery (non-replaceable), providing a typical life of up to 10 years based on reporting frequency and other variables. The electronics supply voltage operates between 2.0 - 3.8 VDC.
