Static Pitot Tubes
- Reliable static pressure monitoring: ACI SPT Static Pitot Tubes are aluminum aspiration probes designed to monitor static pressure in HVAC ducts and equipment applications.
- Ideal for HVAC diagnostics: Used to monitor fan operation, filter blockage, and reduced airflow conditions in non-critical duct pressure applications.
- Designed for cleaner readings: Installs 5 to 8 duct diameters downstream from elbows, obstructions, or major duct changes to help reduce turbulence-related measurement errors.
- Durable aluminum construction: Built for duct environments with a storage and operating temperature range of -40°F to 185°F.
- Flexible probe options: Available in single-point standard and 8" probe lengths to support different duct sizes and installation needs.
- Easy tubing connection: 45° barbed connections accept 1/8" through 1/4" ID flexible plastic tubing for simple connection to pressure switches or transmitters.
- Simple flange mounting: Installs through a 1/4" duct hole with a 1.50" mounting flange for secure, low-profile duct installation.
- Compliance-ready design: RoHS2, WEEE, and REACH approvals support use in modern HVAC and building automation projects.

Supported Applications
The ACI SPT Statick Pitot Tubes are Aluminum static pressure (aspiration) probes designed to monitor static pressure in HVAC ducts or equipment applications. Documented use cases include monitoring fan operation, detecting filter blockage, and identifying reduced air flow in non-critical applications where little or no static pressure is present.
Installation guidance specifies mounting the probe approximately 5 to 8 duct diameters downstream from elbows, obstructions, or large changes in duct area to reduce turbulence affecting readings. The series is covered by ACI's Two (2) Year Limited Warranty.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The SPT Series operates within a temperature range of -40 to 185°F (-40 to 85°C), which applies to both storage and operating conditions. The probes function in humidity ranges from 0 to 90% RH non-condensing.
Performance is characterized by single-point sensing with the probe tip opening parallel to the air stream. Mounting requires a perpendicular orientation to the duct (90 Degrees +/- 3 Degrees). The wetted material and housing are constructed of Aluminum, meeting RoHS2, WEEE, and Reach agency approvals.
Configuration Options
The series offers configurable insertion lengths and includes specific dimensional parameters for integration into existing ductwork. Key capabilities include:
- Insertion Lengths: Available in 4" (101.6 mm) or 8" (203.2 mm).
- Sensing Configuration: Single Point sensing for both lengths.
- Tubing Connections: Features six 45° Barbed Type connections accepting flexible plastic tubing with an inner diameter of 1/8" through 1/4" ID.
- Housing Dimensions: Mounting flange diameter is 1.50" (38.1 mm) with mounting holes sized at 3/16" (4.76 mm).
The probe stem has a diameter of 0.25" (6.35mm). Measurement probe hole size for installation is specified as 1/4" (6.35mm). Weights vary by model: SPT-3.5" weighs 0.022 lbs (10g) and SPT-8.0" weighs 0.034 lbs (15.4g).
Key Product Differences
The series is distinguished by insertion length, which defines the model number:
- SPT-3.5": Features a 4" (101.6 mm) probe insertion length.
- SPT-8.0": Features an 8" (203.2 mm) probe insertion length.
Both variants share identical sensing point configurations, material construction, and connection types. Accessories available for the series include Medical Tubing Kits in Clear color with dimensions of 1/8" ID x 1/4" OD, offered in lengths of 10' (Item # 126606), 20' (Item # 132226), and 100' (Item # 136018).
