Supported Applications
The Omega PGL Series consists of low-pressure diaphragm gauges designed specifically for clean, dry, non-corrosive gas media. These instruments are engineered to provide accurate pressure indication in applications requiring corrosion resistance and protection against overpressure events.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The PGL-25 series delivers 2-1-2 ANSI Grade A accuracy (defined as 2% first 10%, 1% middle 80%, 2% last 10%). The gauges feature a bronze diaphragm element and brass movement, providing corrosion resistance suitable for the specified gas media. Each unit includes 150% overpressure protection to safeguard the mechanism during pressure spikes.
Measurement ranges span from low differential pressures up to higher inH₂O values, with specific model configurations available as follows:
- PGL-25L-10: 0/10 inH₂O
- PGL-25L-15: 0/15 inH₂O (with inner scale 0/9 oz/in²)
- PGL-25L-35: 0/35 inH₂O (with inner scale 0/20 oz/in²)
- PGL-25L-60: 0/60 inH₂O (with inner scale 0/35 oz/in²)
- PGL-25L-100: 0/100 inH₂O (with inner scale 0/60 oz/in²)
- PGL-25L-160: 0/160 inH₂O
- PGL-25L-200: 0/200 inH₂O
- PGL-25L-300: 0/300 inH₂O
A critical operational constraint is that these gauges cannot be oxygen cleaned.
Configuration Options
The series offers a standardized mechanical configuration with variations primarily defined by the pressure range and scale graduations. Key construction features include:
- Dial Size: 64 mm (2.5") diameter.
- Pointer: Black aluminum.
- Movement: Brass with a recalibration screw on the dial.
- Window Material: Polycarbonate for durability and visibility.
- Process Connection: ¼ NPT rear mount connection.
The wetted materials consist of a bronze diaphragm and brass movement, selected to maintain integrity with clean, dry gases. The series does not include electrical outputs or digital communication interfaces; it functions as an analog indicating instrument.
Key Product Differences
Variation within the PGL-25 series is determined by the model suffix corresponding to the maximum pressure range and scale configuration:
- Dual-Scale Models: The 0/15, 0/35, 0/60, and 0/100 inH₂O ranges feature an inner scale calibrated in oz/in² (ranging from 0/9 to 0/60 oz/in²) alongside the primary outer scale.
- Single-Scale Models: The 0/10, 0/160, 0/200, and 0/300 inH₂O ranges display only the outer scale in inches of water column (inH₂O).
All models share identical physical dimensions, connection types, and accuracy classes. The ordering code follows the format PGL-25L-<RANGE>, where <RANGE> corresponds to the maximum value in inches of water column (e.g., PGL-25L-100 for a 0/100 inH₂O gauge).
