Supported Applications
The Omega ZW-CM series comprises compact, wall-mounted wireless environmental sensors designed to monitor and transmit temperature, relative humidity, and barometric pressure. These fully self-contained units are intended for residential, industrial, or commercial indoor environments.
The system operates as part of the Omega ZW-Series wireless sensor architecture, communicating with a ZW-REC coordinator that connects to an Ethernet network for web-based monitoring. The series supports integration with the Omega Enterprise Gateway (OEG) for email alarming, data historian functions, and OPC/UA or DA support.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The ZW-CM sensors operate within a temperature range of -18 to 55°C (-0.4 to 131°F) at up to 90% RH non-condensing. Measurement capabilities include:
- Temperature: Range of -18 to 55°C (-0.4 to 131°F); Accuracy of ±0.5°C for 10 to 55°C and ±1°C for -18 to 10°C; Resolution of 0.1°C.
- Relative Humidity: Range of 5% to 95%; Accuracy of ±3% (20% to 80%) and ±5% (5% to 95%); Hysteresis of ±1% RH; Resolution of 0.1%.
- Barometric Pressure: Range of 300 to 1100 mbar; Accuracy of ±4 mbar; Repeatability of 0.1 mbar.
The device requires a warm-up period of 30 minutes to achieve rated accuracy. Power is supplied by two AA-cell 1.5 Vdc batteries included with the unit.
Configuration Options
The series offers configurable sensor types and transmission intervals, allowing selection based on specific monitoring needs:
- Sensor Configurations: Available as ZW-CM-TH (Temperature and Humidity) or ZW-CM-BTH (Temperature, Humidity, and Barometric Pressure).
- Housing & Construction: Enclosed in polycarbonate with overall dimensions of 135.9 L x 82 W x 39 mm D (5.35 x 3.23 x 1.56").
- Wireless Communication: Transmits via IEEE 802.15.4, DSSS at 2.4 GHz using standard TCP/IP packets.
- Battery Life & Transmission Rate: Battery life varies by transmission frequency: approximately 1 year with a 1-second interval; 7 years with a 2-minute interval; and up to 15 years with a 5-minute interval. A complete system requires at least one End Device (ZW-CM) and one Coordinator/Receiver (ZW-REC).
For demanding NEMA rated industrial applications, the bundle references the ZW-ED Universal sensor transmitter.
Key Product Differences
The primary distinction within the series is the inclusion of barometric pressure sensing. The ZW-CM-BTH model provides temperature, humidity, and barometric pressure measurements, whereas the ZW-CM-TH model measures only temperature and relative humidity.

Hi, Can the new ZW series end devices link to an existing zCDR coodinator? Thanks, Geoff
No it is not compatible with the ZCDR coordinator only the ZW-REC coordinators.
