Supported Applications
The Omega HHF1000 Series is a handheld air velocity and temperature meter designed for research & development labs, HVAC applications, and manufacturing processes. The series measures air velocity, mass flow, volume air flow, and air temperature in clean air flows within ducts and pipes.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The HHF1000 Series utilizes a sensor design based on three RTD elements: one 100 Ω element for temperature measurement and two 1000 Ω elements that measure velocity via heat loss. The series operates within an air velocity range of 0 to 5000 FPM (0 to 25 m/sec) and a process temperature range of -40 to 93°C (-40 to 199°F). Accuracy is specified as 1.5% full scale for air velocity and 0.5% full scale for air temperature.
Operating ambient conditions are defined by component location: the sensor probe operates from -40 to 93°C (-40 to 199°F), while the electronic case operates from 0 to 50°C (32 to 122°F). The unit is powered by a 9V Lithium battery or a 9 Vdc adaptor, with a continuous operation battery life of 40 hours. Media compatibility is restricted to clean air and Nitrogen; the series is not explosion proof nor intrinsically safe.
Configuration Options
The HHF1000 Series offers configurable probe configurations and communication interfaces tailored for specific measurement environments:
- Probe Configurations: Available with a fixed 305 mm (12") stainless steel probe or a remote telescopic probe adjustable from 305 to 914 mm L (12 to 36"). The standard probe diameter is 6 mm (¼" OD).
- Display & Output: Features a backlit LCD display showing air velocity in FPM, m/sec, MPH, and Km/hour, and temperature in °F and °C. Volume flow readout includes CFM and CMM.
- Data Communication: Models include options for a USB PC serial interface with Windows® based data logging software or a Wireless RF transmitter operating on the ISM 2.4 GHz band (direct sequence spread spectrum).
- Wireless Performance: The wireless option provides an indoor/urban range up to 40 m (130') and outdoor line-of-sight range up to 120 m (400'). A UWTC-REC1 48-channel wireless receiver is required for the PC interface.
- Additional Features: Includes high/low alarm indications, adjustable display response time, atmospheric pressure compensation, and optional NIST traceable 4-point calibration certificate (-CAL-3).
Key Product Differences
The series is differentiated by probe type and wireless capability across four primary models:
- HHF1001A: Air velocity/temperature meter with a fixed 305 mm (12") stainless steel probe.
- HHF1001R: Air velocity/temperature meter equipped with a remote telescopic probe adjustable from 12 to 36 inches.
- HHF1001A-W: Includes the fixed probe configuration and wireless PC communication option (ISM 2.4 GHz).
- HHF1001R-W: Combines the remote telescopic probe with the wireless PC communication option.

Hi, Can this probe measure velocity in the range from 0 m/se to 0.02 m/s?
Thank you for your inquiry about the anemometer. That is a very tight velocity and unfortunately, it may not be as effective to measure that low of a flow.

How long is the flexible wire between remote telescopic probe and the meter? I know that the telescopic probe is adjustable from 12" to 36", but i want to know the length of the wire (Not the telescopic probe but the wire). Thank you. (Model : HHF1001R)
Thank you for your inquiry. The cable length is 3 feet and cannot be modified for longer lengths.

Hi, could i relate it to a data acquisition with Labview or USB to make a real time velocity/temperature plots.thanks
Thank you for your inquiry. The anemometer is equipped with a cable to install to your PC and software is downloaded from the Product Page or you may use the wireless option as well to obtain real-time data.

I want to read data from the anemometer using serial communication implemented in a data acquisition system. Is this possible? And is there any documentation about commands and syntax if this is an option? Thanks
Thank you for your inquiry. Please send an email request to flow@omega.com and can have our Instrumentation Group the information for this anemometer.

Does it come with a calibration certificate?
Thank you for your inquiry about the anemometer. A calibration certificate is optional, not included, and the suffix to add to a part number is '-CAL-3.'

Is there a replacement probe available for the telescopic probe? Do I need to send the unit in for that one like the fixed probe? If so why?
Thank you for your inquiry on this product. Unfortunately, there is no replacement probe to swap out and must be returned to be calibrated correctly via a firm ware in our Instrumentation Lab.
