Supported Applications

The Dwyer Series AP1 consists of wired thermo-anemometer probes designed to measure air velocity, volumetric flow, and temperature. These probes are intended as replacement units for use with the Model 471B handheld balancing instrument in HVAC applications.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The Series AP1 operates within specific temperature and velocity envelopes. Air velocity measurements range from 45 to 6000 FPM (0.23 to 30 m/s), while volumetric air readings reach up to 19,999 in selected flow units. Temperature measurement spans -40 to 212°F (-40 to 100°C).

• Air velocity accuracy: ±3% FS within a temperature range of 40 to 90°F (4 to 32°C)
• Temperature accuracy: ±0.5°F (±0.28°C)
• Response time: 1 s

Process conditions are defined by separate limits for velocity and temperature sensing:

• Process air velocity range: -20 to 212°F (-29 to 100°C)
• Process temperature range: -40 to 212°F (-40 to 100°C)
• Ambient operating temperature: 5 to 125°F (-15 to 51°C)

Configuration Options

The series is offered with a coiled cable electrical connection and supports multiple insertion lengths to accommodate different duct or plenum depths. The standard configuration includes an 8" (203 mm) insertion length, with extended options available.

• AP1-24: Probe with coiled cable, 24" insertion length
• AP1-36: Probe with coiled cable, 36" insertion length

The probe weighs 12.8 oz (362 g) and carries CE compliance.
