Supported Applications

The Omega PX80/PXM80 series consists of heavy-duty, wet/wet differential pressure transducers designed for harsh industrial environments. These units are suitable for interface with most PLCs and computer-based control systems.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The series covers measurement ranges from 0-30 to 0-5000 psi (0-2 to 0-350 bar). Performance specifications include linearity of ±0.25% FSO, hysteresis of ±0.10% FSO, and repeatability of ±0.1% FSO. The transducers feature a high overpressure capacity with a Line Pressure rating of 1500 psi (100 bar) or 150% of rated pressure, whichever is greater, and a minimum Burst Pressure of 6000 psi (414 bar).

Operating temperature ranges differ by output type: mV/V models operate from -73 to 163°C (-100 to 325°F), while amplified outputs operate from -46 to 107°C (-50 to 225°F). The compensated temperature range for mV/V is 17 to 71°C (60 to 160°F).

Configuration Options

The PX80/PXM80 series offers three output signal types: mV/V, amplified 0 to 5 Vdc, and 4 to 20 mA. Wetted parts are constructed from 17-4 PH stainless steel with Buna-N O-rings, housed in all Stainless Steel enclosures.

Electrical connection options include:

  • Style 0: 3 m (10') cable
  • Style 1: PTIH-10-6P connector or equivalent
  • Style 5: Metal terminal box (available for 4 to 20 mA output models only)
  • Style 6: mini DIN connector

Process connections vary by pressure range. For PX80, the D port is 1/4-18 FNPT for ranges ≤700 psi and B port is 1/8-27 FNPT for ≥1000 psi. For PXM80 metric models, G1/4 ports are used for <70 bar and G1/8 ports for ≥70 bar.

Additional options include a Style 5 sealed metal terminal box, the PT06F10-6S-R mating connector (sold separately), and extra cable lengths on cable style models by adding suffixes such as “-(length in feet)FT” or “-(total length in meters)M.”

Key Product Differences

The series distinguishes between PX80 (psi ranges) and PXM80 (metric bar ranges). Model numbers indicate the differential pressure range, output type (V = 2 mV/V nominal, 5T = 0 to 5 Vdc, I = 4 to 20 mA), electrical connection style, and pressure port configuration. Dimensional profiles vary by capacity; for example, dimensions A through D differ between units rated <1000 psi (<70 bar) and those ≥1000 psi (≥70 bar).
