Supported Applications
The Ntron Microx Online is a wall-mounted oxygen analyzer designed for precise measurement of Oxygen (O2) concentration in positive pressure applications. The series supports process lines requiring monitoring of % volume or ppm levels, specifically cited for O2 and N2 gas generation, industrial gas, medical gas, pharmaceutical processes, and additive manufacturing.
The instrument is designed exclusively for safe, non-hazardous (Non-Ex) locations of operation. It utilizes either Zirconia or Electrochemical sensor technology depending on the specific model configuration to measure background gases containing hydrocarbons or standard oxygen levels.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The Microx Online operates within defined ambient temperature ranges dependent on the selected sensor type: -25...+60 °C (-13...+140 °F) for Zirconia sensors and 0...+45 °C (+32...+113 °F) for Electrochemical sensors. The analyzer functions in humidity conditions of 0...95 %rh non-condensing.
Performance specifications include a response time (T90) of < 15 seconds @ 25 °C (77 °F) within the selected range for both sensor types. The device maintains an internal sample pressure and flow factory-set at 0.3 barg (5 psig); 0.55 SCFH (250 ml/m), with a maximum sample gas rating of 21 barg (300 psig). Accuracy varies by measurement point; for example, the Zirconia sensor in the 96% range lists +/- 0.5 % @ 20.9 % and +/- 0.3 % @ 95 %, while ppm ranges list accuracy such as +/- 3ppm @ 100 ppm.
Configuration Options
The series offers configurable measurement envelopes, sensor technologies, housing materials, and output options to accommodate specific engineering needs:
- Sensor Technology & Ranges: Available with Zirconia (ZR) or Electrochemical (EC) sensors. Measurement ranges include 0...1000 ppmv, 0...25 %, and 0...96 % (Zirconia only). Output resolution is 1 ppmv / 0.01 % for Zirconia and 0.5 ppmv / 0.01 % for Electrochemical.
- Housing & Mounting: Standard ABS enclosure with an optional Rittal mild steel enclosure. Designed for wall or vertical surface mounting with IP65 ingress protection.
- Outputs & Alarms: Features a 4...20 mA analogue output, RS232 digital communications, and integrated audible-visual alarms. Digital output options include one dry contact relay (5 Amp-rated) and two relays assigned to control an optional light tower indicator.
- Power & Connections: Powered by 85...230 V AC (50...60 Hz). Electrical interface uses a 2 x 12-way electrical terminal block. Sample connections are provided via 6 mm or 1/4" compression fittings.
Key Product Differences
The Microx Online series distinguishes itself through sensor selection and range capabilities:
- Zirconia (ZR) Models: Offered for ranges of 0...1000 ppmv, 0...25 %, and 0...96 %. These models support a wider operating temperature (-25...+60 °C), have an unlimited shelf life, and offer up to 5 years of sensor life expectancy.
- Electrochemical (EC) Models: Offered for ranges of 0...1000 ppmv and 0...25 %. These models operate in a narrower temperature range (0...+45 °C), have a shelf life up to 3 months, and offer up to 18 months of sensor life expectancy. They are specifically noted for measuring background gases containing hydrocarbons.
