Supported Applications

The Series RHPLC Wall Mount Humidity/Temperature Transmitter is a compact, economical sensor designed for the building automation marketspace. Its stylish housing is well vented to promote air flow across the sensing element, improving measurement accuracy in occupied spaces, mechanical rooms, and HVAC return-air environments where continuous relative humidity and temperature monitoring is required.

Each unit uses a capacitive polymer sensing element to deliver a proportional analog output that integrates directly with building controllers and BAS front ends. A combination humidity and temperature model can be configured, allowing a single wall-mounted device to report both parameters. The polycarbonate housing and screw terminal block connections suit permanent indoor wall installation.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The transmitter measures relative humidity across a 0 to 100% RH range and temperature across -40 to 140°F (-40 to 60°C). It operates over an ambient range of -40 to 140°F (-40 to 60°C) and may be stored between -40 to 176°F (-40 to 80°C).

• RH accuracy: ±2% 10 to 90% RH @ 25°C for 2% accuracy units; ±3% 20 to 80% RH @ 25°C for 3% accuracy units.
• RH hysteresis: ±0.8%.
• RH repeatability: ±0.1% typical.
• Drift: <0.25% RH/year.
• Response time: 8 s (t63).

Temperature accuracy depends on the selected temperature sensor. The passive thermistor sensor is rated ±0.2°C @ 25°C. The RTD temperature sensor is DIN class B, rated ±0.3°C @ 0°C. The current/voltage temperature output is rated ±0.3°C @ 25°C.

Power requirements vary with output type: 10-35 VDC for 4-20 mA or 0-5 VDC output; 15-35 VDC for 0-10 VDC output; 10-29 VAC for 0-5 VDC output; and 15-29 VAC for 0-10 VDC output. Electrical connections are made through a screw terminal block. The polycarbonate housing weighs 125 g, measuring 4-1/2 in high, 2-51/64 in wide, and 1-3/32 in deep. The device carries the CE mark.

Configuration Options

Models differ primarily by accuracy class, humidity output signal, and temperature output type, following the order code RHPLC - <Accuracy> - <Housing> - <Humidity Output> - <Temperature Output> - <Options>.

Accuracy class

The 2 designator provides 2% accuracy (±2% 10 to 90% RH @ 25°C), while the 3 designator provides 3% accuracy (±3% 20 to 80% RH @ 25°C). All units share the North American style wall mount housing (N).

Humidity output

• 1: Current 4-20 mA.
• 2: Voltage 0-10 VDC.
• 3: Voltage 0-5 VDC.

Temperature output

• 0: None (humidity-only configuration).
• 1: Current 4-20 mA.
• 2: Voltage 0-10 VDC.
• 3: Voltage 0-5 VDC.
• A: 10K Ω @ 25°C thermistor type III.
• B: 10K Ω @ 25°C thermistor type II.
• C: 3K Ω @ 25°C thermistor.

Additional temperature sensing elements include a 20K Ω @ 25°C thermistor as well as 100 Ω or 1K Ω RTD types conforming to DIN 385. The FC option adds a factory calibration certificate for 3% accuracy units.

The Series RHPLC comprises the following eight configured models, each pairing an accuracy class with a specific humidity and temperature output:

• RHPLC-2N11 — 2% accuracy, North American wall mount, Current 4-20 mA humidity output, Current 4-20 mA temperature output.
• RHPLC-2N22 — 2% accuracy, Voltage 0-10 VDC humidity output, Voltage 0-10 VDC temperature output.
• RHPLC-3N11 — 3% accuracy, Current 4-20 mA humidity output, Current 4-20 mA temperature output.
• RHPLC-3N1A — 3% accuracy, Current 4-20 mA humidity output, 10K Ω @ 25°C thermistor type III temperature output.
