Supported Applications
The Omega OM-CP-VOLT101A Series, part of the NOMAD® Family, provides a low-cost solution for adding recording capability to existing measurement systems. These voltage data loggers are designed for measuring battery voltages, sensor outputs, photovoltaic studies, and other low-level DC sources.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The series features high accuracy with 16-bit resolution and programmable engineering units for low-level DC voltage recording. Operating ambient temperature ranges from -40 to 80°C (-40 to 176°F) in environments up to 0 to 95% RH non-condensing. The enclosure is rated NEMA 4 (IP65). Response time is specified at 133 mS.
Performance specifications vary by input range as documented:
- ±160 mV Range: Resolution of 5 µV with calibrated accuracy of ±0.01% and differential input type.
- -3 to 3 Vdc Range: Resolution of 0.1 mV with calibrated accuracy of ±0.05% and single-ended input type.
- -8 to 24 Vdc Range: Resolution of 0.5 mV with calibrated accuracy of ±0.05% and single-ended input type.
- -8 to 32 Vdc Range: Resolution of 1.0 mV with calibrated accuracy of ±0.05% and single-ended input type.
Input impedance is >1 MΩ for the ±160 mV model and 125 kΩ for the -3 to 3 Vdc, -8 to 24 Vdc, and -8 to 32 Vdc models. Overload protection ratings are ±5V (for 10 seconds) on the ±160 mV range and ±50V indefinitely on the other ranges.
Configuration Options
The OM-CP-VOLT101A Series is available in four primary input configurations. The housing material is ABS Plastic, with overall dimensions of 36 H x 64 W x 16 mm D (1.4 x 2.5 x 0.6"). Weight is 24 g (0.9 oz). Electrical connections utilize a removable screw terminal.
Power is supplied by an included, user-replaceable 3.6V lithium battery. Data recording and analysis require the OM-CP-IFC200 Windows software and USB interface cable, which are sold separately or as part of specific accessory bundles. The series supports optional NIST calibration certificates.
Available options and accessories include:
- OM-CP-BAT105: Replacement 3.6V lithium battery
- OM-CP-WATERBOX101A: Weatherproof NEMA 4 (IP65) enclosure for the data logger
- Replacement Terminal Blocks: OM-CP-CONNECTOR-2 (2 position, compatible with -3 to 3 Vdc, -8 to 24 Vdc, and -8 to 32 Vdc models) and OM-CP-CONNECTOR-3 (3 position, for the ±160 mV model)
Key Product Differences
Variants within the series are distinguished by their voltage input range, resolution, accuracy class, and input type. Models ending in "-CERT" include a NIST calibration certificate.
- OM-CP-VOLT101A-160MV: ±160 mV range, 5 µV resolution, differential input.
- OM-CP-VOLT101A-2.5V: -3 to 3 Vdc range, 0.1 mV resolution, single-ended input.
- OM-CP-VOLT101A-15V: -8 to 24 Vdc range, 0.5 mV resolution, single-ended input.
- OM-CP-VOLT101A-30V: -8 to 32 Vdc range, 1.0 mV resolution, single-ended input.

Does not work out of box, add'tl products needed
No standard USB port, no response. Per support, that's until you connect the SW using custom cable, and start the unit, which is not mentioned in manual for the HW or on web page.
Expensive for that function.(single channel)

Does not work right out of the box
I wish I would have read the reviews prior to ordering. This product does not work right out of the box. You have to start it up using software, not included, and an adapter cable, also not included. It is not clear from the description that these items are required to use this tool.

Can you view a live trend while logging at 0.25s sampling rate?
Hello, thank you for your question. Even though the logger can do 4Hz when using the custom start, there is a communication limitation that prevents you to do real time at that speed. The fastest sampling rate for real time to the computer would be 1 s/sec.
