Supported Applications

The Omega DA284 Series Vent Plug is a pressure compensation device designed for enclosures requiring high protection against humidity and dust. It features a semipermeable membrane that allows air and humidity to exit while blocking external moisture and dust ingress, maintaining internal pressure equilibrium.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The series operates within an ambient temperature range of -45 to 70°C (-49 to 158°F). It provides IP66 (EN 60529) and IPX9K (EN 40050-9) protection ratings. The device offers an air permeability of 1200 l/h at a pressure difference of min. 70 mbar.

Installation Requirements

• Cut-out: Ø 40.5 + 0.5 mm (1.6 + 0.02") in the enclosure wall.
• Mounting Thread: M40 x 1.5 with nut.
• Sealing gasket NBR must be placed on the outer side panel of the enclosure.

For optimal pressure compensation, installation guidelines recommend using two devices on opposite sides towards the top of the enclosure.

Configuration Options

The DA284 Series is available in plastic and stainless steel configurations to suit different environmental needs. The series supports variable fitting positions.

Housing Materials & Dimensions

• Plastic Model: Light gray ABS plastic; overall dimensions Ø 60 x 37 mm (2.4 x 1.5"); depth in enclosure approx. 16 mm (0.63").
• Stainless Steel Model: V2A-DIN 1.4404/AISI 316L; overall dimensions Ø 58 x 31 mm (2.3 x 1.2"); depth in enclosure approx. 9 mm (0.35").

Model Variants & Packaging

• DA28405: ABS plastic, IP66/IPX9K rated; packaged as 2 pcs per unit.
• DA28401: Stainless steel (V2A-DIN 1.4404/AISI 316L), IP66/IPX9K rated; packaged as 1 pc per unit.

Key Product Differences

The primary distinction between the two variants is the housing material and resulting dimensions. The DA28405 utilizes ABS plastic, while the DA28401 uses stainless steel (V2A-DIN 1.4404/AISI 316L). Both models share identical protection ratings of IP66 (EN 60529) and IPX9K (EN 40050-9), the same M40 x 1.5 mounting thread, and RoHS compliance.
