Supported Applications
The Omega PFT2 Series consists of vacuum and pressure feedthroughs designed for sealing copper and thermocouple wire applications. These hermetic connectors provide a reliable interface for passing electrical signals through process boundaries while maintaining system integrity.
- Vacuum systems requiring leak rates down to 1 x 10⁻¹¹ cc He/s at 10⁻⁸ torr
- Pressure environments up to 120 psi (8 bar)
- Copper and thermocouple wire transmission in process instrumentation setups
Operating Conditions & Performance
The PFT2 Series operates within a temperature range of -40 to 120°C (-40 to 250°F). The series is rated for pressures up to 120 psi (8 bar) and vacuum limits down to 1 x 10⁻⁸ torr. Performance specifications include leak rates of 1 x 10⁻⁵ cc air/s at 120 psi pressure and 1 x 10⁻⁷ cc air/s at 29 inHg vacuum.
- Out gassing: <0.003% VCM; <0.34% weight loss (sampled at 125°C, cold surface at 25°C)
- Compatible media include oils, solvents, refrigerants, water, and non-corrosive gases
- Avoid strong acids and strong bases
Configuration Options
The series offers two primary mechanical configurations: a ½ NPT plug design (PFT2NPT) and a ½ NPT couple design (PFT2CPL). Both models feature brass construction with PTFE-insulated wire options.
- Wire types: Copper or Thermocouple
- Pairs available: 1, 2, or 4 pairs per unit
- Copper wire specification: 20 AWG stranded with PTFE insulation, 600V rating
- Thermocouple wire specification: 20 AWG solid with PTFE insulation; 48 inL length, -200 to 200°C rating
Housing and Dimensions
- PFT2NPT (Plug): Overall length 27.7 mm (1.09 inch), hex size 22.4 mm (0.88 inch)
- PFT2CPL (Couple): Overall length 48.0 mm (1.89 inch), hex size 22.4 mm (0.88 inch)
Ordering Configuration
Model numbers follow the format PFT2NPT-<WIRE>-<NO. OF PAIRS> or PFT2CPL-<WIRE>-<NO. OF PAIRS>. For thermocouple variants, specify the type (J, K, T, or E) in place of <WIRE>.
Key Product Differences
The primary distinction between models is the mechanical connection style and wire configuration.
- PFT2NPT series: ½ NPT plug design for direct threaded installation
- PFT2CPL series: ½ NPT couple design, providing a longer overall length (48.0 mm vs 27.7 mm) to accommodate coupling requirements
Wire variants are differentiated by material and pair count:
- Copper wire models use the suffix "CU" followed by the number of pairs (e.g., PFT2NPT-1CU, PFT2CPL-4CU)
- Thermocouple models replace "CU" with the thermocouple type letter and pair count (e.g., PFT2NPT-1K for 1 Type K pair; PFT2CPL-2J for 2 Type J pairs)

Hello, does the thermocouple wire come with a connector, and if so, which type of connector?
The Thermocouple wire runs through the fitting which is filled with epoxy. Each wire has stripped leads and no connector so this would be added by the customer.

Hello. Is the 48 in thermcouple length split equally on both sides of the fitting? Is customization available to shift the wire to have, say, only 6 in on the thread side? Thanks.
There is actually 48" on each side of fitting (a little over 96" total). No customer variations are available.

Hi, Can I use this feedthrough for glove box installation? Do I need an extra bolt for the other side to fix it on the glove box wall? If yes, do you have such a matching bolt? Thank you,
The fitting is a 1/2 NPT male tapered thread. It's designed to be installed into the matching female NPT connect. Typical application would be a pressure vessel with the female mating fitting installed on it. The thread engagement into the female fitting is nominally only the first 4 or 5 threads. You would typically use "plumber's tape" to seal the threads. There is no type of nut available that has NPT threads
