Supported Applications

The Omega MFT series consists of multiconductor feedthroughs designed for applications requiring several thermocouple sensors to pass through a wall or bulkhead at one opening. These compression-type fittings are engineered for high-pressure or vacuum applications when used with stainless steel ferrules, providing sealing capabilities within small areas.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The MFT series supports probe diameters ranging from 1 to 6 mm (0.040 to ¼ inch). The fittings are constructed for heavy-duty use in pressure or vacuum environments, utilizing a compression mechanism that deforms ferrules upon installation. Ferrule replacement is required when re-using the feedthrough assembly.

Configuration Options

The series offers extensive configuration options across mounting threads, probe counts, and material selections to accommodate specific sealing requirements.

  • Housing Material: 416 stainless steel (SS) body and cap.
  • Ferrule Materials: Standard 300 series stainless steel ferrules; PTFE ferrules available for re-use applications or by adding the '-PTFE' suffix to the model number.
  • Mounting Threads: Available in NPT (Standard) and ISO T/BPST (Metric, add '-BSPT' suffix).
  • Probe Capacity: Configurable for 3 up to 16 probes per fitting depending on the sheath diameter.
  • Dimensions: Vary by model based on probe count and thread size; standard lengths (L1) range from 2 inches to 2-13/16 inches, with metric equivalents provided in specification tables.

Replacement parts include stainless steel ferrules (SS-FER-*), PTFE ferrules (T-FER-*), and optional male threaded caps for various NPT sizes. Teflon tape is also available as an accessory.

Key Product Differences

The MFT series distinguishes between standard inch-based models and metric ISO-threaded versions, with specific model number structures reflecting sheath diameter and probe count (e.g., MFT-040-16 for 0.040-inch probes in a configuration supporting up to 16). Variants are further differentiated by ferrule material: standard stainless steel or PTFE.

Model numbers follow the format MFT-[Sheath Diameter Code]-[Number of Probes]. Metric models require the addition of '-BSPT' to the base model number. Optional male threaded caps (Part Numbers FTN-1, FTN-1-12, FTN-1-14) are available for ¼", ½", and ¾" NPT threads respectively.

What is the max temperature for the MFT series?

Asked by: Dean2
The maximum temperature would be similar to the SSLK compression fittings with the 316SS ferrule which is 1000F.

What is the max pressure of the MFT series?

Asked by: Dean2
The pressure rating on the MFT connectors is 5,000 PSI using the 316SS ferrules and assembled correctly.

What is the vacuum pressure rating of these feedthroughs?

Asked by: Surly4130
Thanks for the inquiry? We do not have a fixed rating, that would depend on you probes. hope this was helpful?
