Supported Applications

The OMEGA UW Series UWRTD-NB9W is a family of wireless RTD probe/transmitter assemblies for sanitary and industrial temperature measurement. Each unit is a complete, ready-to-install, pre-wired package: a Pt100 RTD probe is built directly into an NB9 glass-reinforced Nylon head that houses the wireless transmitter, so temperature can be read at the point of measurement with no field wiring back to a controller.

The transmitter sends sensor temperature, ambient temperature, signal strength and battery status back to a host receiver at ranges up to 120 m (400'). Wetted probe materials are 304 SS or 316 SS, suiting hygienic and process environments, and the assembly comes complete with the transmitter protection head, integral probe and a 3.6V lithium battery. Free measurement and data-logging software and a USB programming cable are included with compatible UW Series receivers.

Operating Conditions & Performance

As an RTD assembly the unit measures over -200 to 850 °C (-328 to 1562 °F) with an accuracy of ±0.1% of reading or ±0.1 °C (±0.2 °F), a resolution of 0.1 °C (0.2 °F) and a response time of 1 second. Data is transmitted over a 2.4 GHz ISM-band wireless RF link, and the enclosure carries an IP65 rating.

The transmitter is powered by a 3.6V lithium battery assembly (one included). It operates over an ambient range of -40 to 85 °C (-40 to 185 °F), stores at -40 to 85 °C (-40 to 185 °F), and tolerates 0 to 95% RH non-condensing humidity. Available probe insertion lengths are 152 mm (6"), 304 mm (12"), 457 mm (18") and 610 mm (24").

Configuration Options

The lineup differs by sensor element count, sheath material, probe diameter and probe length, all sharing the same NB9 wireless head. Element count is single (1PT) or dual (2PT) Pt100, while the sheath material is either 304 SS (PT304) or 316 SS (PT316) to match the process and corrosion requirements.

  • Probe diameter: selectable order codes 116, 18, 316 and 14, corresponding to standard fractional-inch probe outside diameters.

All configurations transmit the same wireless data set and pair with the UWTC-REC series receivers, whose analog and digital outputs include a 4-20 mA current output alongside RS-232 and RS-485.

Key Product Differences

Part numbers are built from the UWRTD-NB9W base plus an element/sheath code, a probe-diameter code and a probe length, following the pattern seen in examples such as UWRTD-NB9-1PT304-14-24.

How do Install the software for my wireless temperature controller? UWRTD. Downloaded software but said it was unable to install on my pc. Is there an app I can download?
