Supported Applications

The Omega OMB-DAQ-2408 Series comprises multifunction USB data acquisition modules designed for highly accurate voltage and temperature measurements. These devices serve as isolated interfaces between field sensors and Microsoft Windows operating systems (Vista, 7, 8, 10; 32-bit and 64-bit). The series supports analog input configurations for single-ended or differential voltage signals and thermocouple inputs with built-in cold-junction compensation.

Documented measurement capabilities include:

Analog output channels on the OMB-DAQ-2408-2AO model provide a calibrated range of ±10 V (uncalibrated ±10.05 V) with 16-bit resolution. Digital I/O operates at 0 to 5V for outputs and accepts 0 to 15V inputs.

The series offers two primary configurations distinguished by analog output capability:

  • OMB-DAQ-2408: Features 16 single-ended or 8 differential 24-bit analog inputs, 8 lines of digital I/O, and 2 counters.
  • OMB-DAQ-2408-2AO: Includes all features of the base model plus two 16-bit analog output channels capable of pacing up to 500 S/s simultaneously or 1 kS/s on a single channel.

All models utilize screw terminals for field wiring connections and connect via USB 2.0 (full-speed). The physical dimensions are 127 L × 89.9 W × 35.6 mm D (5.00 × 3.53 × 1.40") with a weight of 160 g (5.6 oz).
