Supported Applications

The Omega OM-CP-TCTemp2000 is a thermocouple temperature data logger with an LCD display designed for recording and monitoring thermal profiles. The device features one internal semiconductor sensor and one remote channel compatible with J, K, T, E, R, S, B, and N type thermocouples. It provides access to current readings as well as minimum, maximum, and average statistics.

The series supports FDA 21 CFR part 11 compliant applications through the optional OM-CP-SVP-SYSTEM software package, which includes an IQ/OQ/PQ secure software validation workbook. The unit is manufactured in the USA with a 5-year warranty and features password protection for data security.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The logger operates within an ambient temperature range of -20 to +60°C (-4 to 140°F) at 0 to 95% RH non-condensing. The internal sensor measures from -20 to +60°C with a resolution of 0.1°C.

Remote channel performance varies by thermocouple type, as detailed in the specification table:

  • J-type: -210 to 760°C; Resolution 0.1°C; Accuracy ±0.5°C
  • K-type: -270 to 1370°C; Resolution 0.1°C; Accuracy ±0.5°C
  • T-type: -270 to 400°C; Resolution 0.1°C; Accuracy ±0.5°C

Note: Stated accuracy does not include errors due to the thermocouple itself. The device includes automatic cold junction compensation.

Configuration Options

The OM-CP-TCTemp2000 series is configurable with various accessories and certifications to meet specific operational needs:

  • Housing & Display: Black anodized aluminum enclosure (122 x 84 x 32 mm / 4.8" x 3.3" x 1.25") with a large LCD and 8-button keypad.
  • Memory & Sampling: Non-volatile memory capacity of 131,071 readings per channel (totaling two channels). Sample rates are configurable from 2 seconds up to 24 hours.
  • Power Options: Powered by a user-replaceable 9V lithium battery. Optional AC adaptors include OM-CP-110-PWR-2000 (110 Vac) and OM-CP-220-PWR-2000 (220 Vac).
  • Connectivity: Data transfer requires the OM-CP-IFC200 interface package, which includes Windows software and a 1.8 m (6') USB cable connecting via a female subminiature (SMP) connector.
  • Certifications & Software: Available with an NIST traceable calibration certificate (OM-CP-TCTEMP2000-CERT). The OM-CP-SVP-SYSTEM provides FDA 21 CFR part 11 compliant validation documentation.

Key Product Differences

The series is offered in two primary configurations based on certification requirements:

  • OM-CP-TCTEMP2000: Standard thermocouple temperature data logger with LCD display.
  • OM-CP-TCTEMP2000-CERT: Includes the standard unit plus an NIST calibration certificate.

The device displays memory status, battery levels, external power status, and sampling/recording indicators. It retains data in non-volatile memory even if AC or battery power is lost. The backlight consumes significant battery life; users should configure auto shut-off when not in use to extend operation time.

How do you change TC Type?

Hi, thermocouple type can be changed during set up of the logger through the software. When you set up the logger to start recording you can change sampling rate, start/stop method and thermocouple type among other parameters. Interface cable and software package is sold separately. If you don't already have one you might consider buying one OM-CP-IFC200. Thank you for taking us into consideration for your application needs.

How do you shut it off? The manual is not available

Thank you for your question. There is no shut off button. You can only stop logger from logging from the software. Please see link to download 2 manuals for the logger. https://www.omega.ca/en/pdf-manuals
