Supported Applications

The Omega PX5100 is a compact, industrial pressure transmitter designed for monitoring pressures in process automation, hydraulic systems, compressors, pumps, and tank level applications. The unit utilizes rugged field-proven thin film sensor technology to monitor wet or dry media.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The PX5100 series offers measurement ranges from 0-50 psi (0-3.4 bar) up to 0-7500 psi (0-517 bar), with compound gage options available for -Vac to +15, +30, and +50 psi (-Vac to +1, +2.1, and +3.4 bar). Accuracy is specified as ±0.25% FS URL @23°C (includes linearity, hysteresis, and repeatability), with an output resolution of 0.1% FS (URL) and stability of ±0.25% FS/year.

Operating temperature ranges from -10 to 60°C (14 to 140°F); storage temperature is rated for -20 to 70°C (-4 to 158°F). The transmitter features a response time of 30 ms (adjustable) and withstands vibration up to 5 g at 150 Hz and shock up to 10 g for 16 ms. Overpressure ratings vary by range: ranges ≤1500 psi support Proof pressure of 200% FS and Burst pressure of 500%; the 3000 and 5000 psi ranges also list Proof at 200% and Burst at 500%, while the 7500 psi range lists Proof at 120% and Burst at 150%. The unit is rated for NEMA 4X (IP65) environmental protection.

Configuration Options

The series supports a configurable two-wire output of 4 to 20 mA with zero point adjustable from -10% to +110% FS and span point adjustable from -10% to +110% FS. Power supply requirements are 12 to 32 Vdc, with minimum voltage calculated as Vmin=12V+(0.022Ax loop res). The transmitter includes a backlit LCD display (4 digit, 10 mm) that rotates in 90° increments and features min/max value capture and hold functions.

Key configurable attributes include:

• Housing & Connections: Aluminum housing with ¼ NPT female pressure connection and ½ NPT female conduit fitting for electrical entry. Overall dimensions are Diameter: 65 mm (2.56 in), Height: 91.9 mm (3.62 in).
• Wetted Materials: All stainless steel wetted parts, specifically fluids and gases compatible with 316SS and 17-4 pH SS.
• Options & Accessories:-XRH: 9-point NIST traceable calibration (must specify at time of order); -X6B: Oxygen cleaning.
