Supported Applications
The Omega PX633 Submersible Pressure Transmitter is designed for high-demand level measurement applications using hydrostatic pressure. The series identity centers on submersion in liquids to measure liquid level, utilizing advanced microprocessor technology with comprehensive linear and temperature error compensation.
Documented design features address demanding conditions where sensors may experience severe stress from turbulent process media. Key construction elements include full potting, reference tube condensation countermeasures, a dual seal design, and an inverted cone seal intended to extend the working life of the cable and transducer in such environments.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The PX633 series operates within specific environmental limits. The operating temperature range is -10 to 70°C (14 to 158°F), with a storage temperature of -30 to 80°C (-22 to 176°F). Ambient temperature effects are specified as ±0.2% FS/10K for the range from 20°C to 80°C.
Performance specifications vary by accuracy class, defined at 20°C ± 5°C (68°F ± 9°F):
- PX633A1: 0.01% FS NLHR
- PX633A2: 0.25% FS NLHR
- PX633A5: 0.50% FS NLHR
Long-term stability is rated at ±0.2% FS/year. The series carries an IP68 protection class and meets EMC environment standards including GB/T 9254/CISPR22, IEC61000-4-2 through IEC61000-4-6 (via corresponding GB/T references). Vibration effects are rated per IEC61298-3/GB/T 18271.3 at 20g (5-2000HZ, max<±3mm) with an effect of <0.1% FS.
Measurement Ranges and Electrical Parameters
The series supports pressure ranges from 0 to 3 psi up to 0 to 300 psi. The output signal is a 4 to 20mA DC two-wire system powered by a supply voltage of 10.5 to 55VDC. Load resistance must be less than (U-10)/0.021 Ω, with a maximum current of 20.8mA and power consumption of 500mW at 24VDC output.
Configuration Options
The PX633 series is configurable across accuracy classes, pressure ranges, and cable lengths to meet specific installation needs. The model number guide follows the format PX633A<ACCURACY>-<PRESSURE_RANGE>GI.
- Accuracy Classes: Available as A1 (0.01% FS NLHR), A2 (0.25% FS NLHR), and A5 (0.50% FS NLHR).
- Pressure Ranges: 0 to 3 psi, 0 to 5 psi, 0 to 15 psi, 0 to 30 psi, 0 to 100 psi, 0 to 150 psi, 0 to 250 psi, and 0 to 300 psi.
- Cable Lengths: Nominal lengths vary by range: 20', 50', 90', 250', 365', 595', or 710' (tolerance ± 0.5m/1.5ft).
The electrical connection utilizes a PUR cable with an outer diameter of (7.5±0.2)mm. The housing and isolation diaphragm are constructed from 316 SS, filled with silicon oil, and sealed with O-ring FMK material.
Key Product Differences
Variants within the PX633 series differ primarily by accuracy class (A1, A2, or A5) and pressure range selection. Each combination is paired with a specific nominal cable length as defined in the product number selection table.
The series offers optional accessories including:
- Tank Cable Clamp (PX633-CLAMP)
- Counter weight (PX633-WEIGHT)
- Cable clamp hanger (PX633-HANGER)
- Thread Connection (PX633-M20, other threads available)
A protective tube is noted as user-provided. The transmitter cable and level transmitter are listed as options or components within the system configuration.
