Supported Applications

The DP25B-E and DP25B-S are 1/8 DIN panel meters from the DP25B platform, built for process and strain measurement and display. A large 4-digit, 9-segment display with patented programmable color lets the readout switch between red, amber and green at setpoints or alarm points, so operators can read status across a room at a glance.

The process (DP25B-E) build accepts DC voltage and current signals, while the strain (DP25B-S) build reads strain-gage bridges, with built-in bridge excitation. Optional relay outputs with adjustable deadband and isolated or non-isolated analog outputs let the meter both indicate and control, and the wider DP25B platform also supports thermocouple and 100 Ω Pt RTD inputs.

A NEMA 4 front bezel suits the meter to wash-down and dusty panel locations, and it carries CE, UKCA and UL US marks. Note: for inductive loads, a proper TVS protection diode should be fitted externally across the relay contacts to stay within the relay specifications.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The process and strain inputs cover a broad set of DC ranges - 0 to 100 mV, ±50 mV, 0 to 10 V, ±5 V, 0 to 20 mA and 4 to 20 mA - with an accuracy of 0.02% Rdg. The meter has a 15-bit resolution, a response time of 2 seconds, and programmable hysteresis from 0 to 9999.

For strain-gage bridges, firmware-selectable excitation is available at 24V @ 25 mA or 12V @ 50 mA, and at 10V @ 120 mA or 5V @ 60 mA, so the meter can drive a range of bridge configurations. Where the platform is used for temperature, thermocouple accuracy is ±0.5°C (0.9°F) and RTD (100 Ω Pt) covers -200 to 850°C (-328 to 1562°F).

The meter operates from 0 to 50°C (32 to 122°F) at up to 90% @ 40°C (104°F) non-condensing humidity and stores at -40 to 85°C (-40 to 185°F). Standard power is 115 Vac or 230 Vac ±10%, with low-voltage options of 10 to 32 Vdc and 26 to 56 Vdc. Outputs include 0 to 10 Vdc, 0 to 20 mA or 4 to 20 mA analog and dual 5 A SPDT (Form C) relays.

Configuration Options

The model number is assembled as DP25B - <Input Type> - <Power Option> - <Output Option>, so each meter's input, supply and output hardware are set at ordering. Within this series the input is fixed as process or strain, and capability differs by the power and output suffixes chosen.

Power options are:

  • -230 - 230 Vac.
  • -DC10/32 - 10 to 32 Vdc.
  • -DC26/56 - 26 to 56 Vdc.

Output options are:

  • -A - analog output.
  • -AI-R - isolated analog output (the -R option is required with -AI).
  • -R - dual 5 A relays.
  • -AR - combined analog and relay options.

Key Product Differences

The two base input builds in this series are:

  • DP25B-E - process meter for DC voltage and current.
  • DP25B-S - strain-gage input meter.

Each is combined with a power suffix (standard 115 Vac, or the -230, -DC10/32 or -DC26/56 options) and an output suffix (-A, -R, -AR or -AI-R), which is how the 30 orderable configurations are built - for example a base DP25B-E, a mains DP25B-E-230-AR with analog and relays, or a low-voltage DP25B-E-DC10/32-R. The related DP25B-TC and DP25B-RTD models extend the same panel meter to thermocouple and RTD inputs.

The meter measures 48 H x 96 W x 152 mm D (1.89 x 3.78 x 6.0") and weighs 36 g (1.27 lb). The DPP-5 1/8 DIN panel punch is available as an accessory to prepare the mounting cutout.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tough Little Meter Nice meter. We use it to display pressure when calibrating relief valves. Holds up pretty well in a rough environment as long as you don't beat on the front panel. Instructions are okay but not the best...however, tech support is exceptional! You can't go wrong with this meter.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Doesn't come w/ a power cord? We bought this and it didn't come with a power cord. I did not see that in the advertised information so that is a bit disappointing. Gets the job done if you can plug in.

The ones I got don't have a PEAK option with the MAX button. They just have a Net/Gross which is useless for my application. Do you sell some still that have the PEAK button or an updated manual for what you are currently shipping?

Asked by: SteveyT
If you are talking about the DP25B-S it does have PEAK capability. The NT/GRS button can be programmed for a peak reading function. If you access the RD.CF menu during scaling and to the R4 submenu you can select either a G for Gross or a P for Peak. This procedure is covered in the full manual for the DP25B-S. If you do not have the full manual you can download it from the MANUALS section on our website,

Is the update rate of the analog output tied to the sampling rate of the sensor? That is. if the sensor samples at 3 Hz, will the analog output update at 3 Hz, or will it update continuously?

Asked by: Charles C
The analog out it is not a D/A converter but a pulse-width modulator which is much slower in function. It takes about 500 msec for the analog output to begin to change and then it takes up to 1500 msec more for the analog out to go from 0 to the full 10 V settled max final value.

Is it a loop powered controller for Pressure transmitter please let me know the wiring connection to connect a 2wire 4...20ma transmitter

Asked by: Nikhil
The DP25B-E is not a loop-powered display. It is powered either by AC power (115VAC or 230VAC). It has an internal 24VDC supply that you can use to power a 2-wire 4 to 20mA transmitter. The 2-wire transmitter would be wire to the DP25B-E as follows. The positive (+) connection from the transmitter would wire to Terminal TB2-5. The negative connection from the transmitter would wire to Terminal TB2-3

Does this unit come with calibration cert, tracable to NIST standard?

Asked by: Andrew87
Andrew, thank you for contacting us. This is a process meter that accepts multiple inputs, so this unit as is does not come with a cal cert. But we can perform a system calibration of this unit with the sensor you have, at a small additional charge. The system of the meter and the sensor will then be NIST traceable. If you have more questions kindly email us at pressure@omega.com
