Supported Applications

The Omega TMO series consists of Steel Flanged Immersion Heaters designed specifically for low viscosity oil applications. These units feature a rugged steel sheath and are engineered with a low watt density of 23 W/in² to suit the thermal properties of lightweight oils.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The TMO series operates within a power range from 3 kW to 80 kW. Electrical supply options include 240 Vac or 480 Vac, with configurations available for both single-phase and three-phase service (designated by the '3P' suffix). The heaters utilize steel flange process connections in sizes of 3, 5, 6, or 8 inches rated at 150 lbs. Wetted parts consist of a rugged steel sheath.

Configuration Options

The series offers multiple enclosure types to accommodate different environmental requirements:

• E-1 General Purpose Enclosure
• E-2 Moisture Tight/Explosion Resistant Enclosure
• E-3 Explosion Resistant Enclosure (CSA NRTL/C certified; not intended for use in hazardous areas)
• E-4 Moisture Resistant Enclosure

Certifications include UL Listed and CSA Certified for General Purpose and Moisture Resistant enclosures. Larger flange sizes and kW ratings beyond the standard tables are available.

Key Product Differences

The TMO series is configured by power rating, voltage, phase, and enclosure type following the model number guide: TMO----. Specific variations include:

• 3-inch flange models: 3 to 9 kW with 3 steel sheath elements.
• 5-inch flange models: 6 to 30 kW with 6 steel sheath elements; available in General Purpose, E-3 Explosion Resistant, and E-4 Moisture Resistant enclosures.
• 6-inch flange models: 18 to 36 kW with 12 steel sheath elements.
• 8-inch flange models: 30 to 80 kW (e.g., TMO-1830R1, TMO-1840R1) with 18 steel sheath elements; available in General Purpose, E-3 Explosion Resistant, and E-4 Moisture Resistant enclosures.
