Supported Applications
The Omega FLR1000 Series and FLR1000ST Series are low flow turbine meters designed for measuring extremely low flow rates from 20 mL/min to 5 L/min. These sensors are suitable for industrial, commercial, and laboratory applications involving liquid or gas media.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The series delivers an accuracy of ±1% FS (liquids) and ±3% (gases), with repeatability specified as ±0.2% FS for liquids and ±0.5% FS for gases. The FLR1000 Series operates within a process temperature range of 0 to 50°C (32 to 122°F). For the stainless steel construction, the FLR1000ST Series supports an ambient operating temperature of 5 to 55°C (41 to 131°F) and storage temperatures from 0 to 70°C (32 to 158°F).
Pressure ratings vary by series and media. The FLR1000 Series supports up to 40 psi at 20°C (68°F) for gas, 100 psi for liquid, and 500 psi for brass units using liquid services. The FLR1000ST Series is rated for a maximum of 34 bar (500 psig).
Configuration Options
The series offers extensive configuration options across housing materials, output signals, and display availability.
- Housing Materials: PPS or Brass Construction for the FLR1000 Series; Stainless Steel Construction (316 SS) for the FLR1000ST Series. Wetted parts include 40% glass filled polyphenelene sulfide, sapphire shaft and bearing, FKM rubber O-rings, Pyrex® glass, epoxy, and stainless steel bearing support.
- Output Signals: Models are available with Pulse Output, 0 to 5 Vdc, or 4 to 20 mA signals. The FLR1000ST Series includes specific model variants for voltage output (e.g., -D suffix) and current output (e.g., -I suffix).
- Display Options: Units are offered with or without a display. Display models feature dimensions of 76 x 44 x 89 mm (3 x 1.75 x 3.5"), while non-display units measure 60 x 42 x 37 mm (2.35 x 1.65 x 1.25").
- Process Connections: Acetal Tube Fittings are available in sizes ranging from 1/8" to 1/2", selected based on the specific flow range model.
- Electrical Connection: A 4-pin male connector is included with a 0.9 m (3') cable for both power and signal transmission.
Power supply requirements differ by output type: FLR1000 Series requires 11.5 to 15 Vdc regulated, 30 mA typical; Voltage Output Models of the FLR1000ST Series require 11.5 to 12.5 Vdc (0.4 W @ 12 Vdc); Current Output Models of the FLR1000ST Series require 18 to 24 Vdc (1.2 W @ 24 Vdc), 50 mA.
Key Product Differences
The series is divided into two primary construction families: the standard FLR1000 and the stainless steel FLR1000ST. The FLR1000 Series utilizes a Pelton-type turbine wheel with an electro-optical system for gas flow measurement, while the FLR1000ST Series provides stainless steel wetted parts.
Model numbering distinguishes between media type and output configuration:
- Gas Models (FLR1001–FLR1206): Cover flow ranges from 20 to 100 mL/min up to 40 to 200 L/min. These models are available with optional brass body (-BR) and display options.
- Liquid Models (FLR1007–FLR1013): Cover flow ranges from 13 to 100 mL/min up to 1 to 10 L/min. These models offer pulse output (-P), brass body (-BR), and display options.
- Liquid Stainless Steel Models (FLR1007ST–FLR1013ST): Provide the same liquid flow ranges as FLR1007-1013 but with 316 SS construction. Variants include no display, voltage output (-D), and current output (-I).
Optional accessories include power supplies (FLR1000-PW for 115 Vac, FLR1000-230PW for 230 V with European connector) and replacement cables. Calibration options are available by adding the suffix “-NISTAIR” for a 4-point NIST calibration for air or “-NISTWATER” for water (FLR1007 calibrations are 3-points).

VERY POOR! Wrong Reading!
Bought this flowmeter and tested it (measuring cylinder and timer)only to realise the reading was way off the mark.
Please be careful, look for a calibration certification if you plan to get one.

FLR1204 20-100L/min works. Spec sheet states "fast response" I did not find this to be true. Power requirements states 30mA (typical) with 11.5 V to 15.0 V supply, so 0.345 W to 0.45 W. Data logger has .4 W. Will data logger power the senor or not??? Also, the FLR1204 sensor is on a by-pass plumbing, I was not aware of this.

works and functions but limited
Purchased unit but had to return the first one due to a defect on the screen. got the second one in and it works great, in an environment without any back pressure. The second any pressure is added to the mix the gauge is rendered useless. unfortunately the testing we are performing requires some pressure while still maintaining flow and we are not able to get the value we are looking for. looking at other gauges that might have a different system to make our test work.

What is the Mfr and P/N of the electrical connector? Or, better yet, the mating connector/crimps?

We do not sell the connector alone. If you are looking for the power supply connector, the part number for the connector and cable is FLR1000-PW for 120VAC, or FLR1000-230PW for 230VAC. If you are looking for the communication cable connector, the part number for the connector and cable is FLR1000-C.

The user's guide / manual for these units (FLR1003 / FLR1203) indicate Viton O-rings as standard, but EPDM optional. Can I order the EPDM option?
Yes. Add suffix "-EPDM" to the part number for the EPDM O ring option.

We would like to check if FLR1011 can be applied to measure Refrigerant, including R1233zd, R1234ze and R134a. Pls kindly advise asap.
The FLR1000 uses infrared (IR) technology, so the liquid must be translucent for proper operation.
The wetted components are listed in the data sheet. Please ensure they are compatible with the fluid in your application.

Will this work with a coolant liquid at -10 C? The coolant is glycol-water mix.
Thanks for your question. The FLR1000 series meters have an operation temperature range of 5-55 C and a storage temperature range of 0-70 C. This meter cannot handle -10 C temperatures.

Will this work with automotive liquids such as gasoline, diesel? If not can you suggest an alternative low flow rate meter.
Thank you for your inquiry! These flow meters incorporate infrared light into the measurement of flow rate and thus require that all fluids be translucent. Additionally, they are calibrated with water and will deviate with viscosities varying from water. Though suitable for up to 10 centistokes, accuracy may be affected by the combination of these factors. The FLR series would still be our best suited option as we do not have another offering with a similar flow range and analog output.

What is the pinout for this sensor in a 4-20 mA model? P/N FLR1009ST-I. Thank you.
Thank you for your inquiry about the flow meter. The manual outlines the wire schematic flow the "-I' flow meter such as the FLR1009ST-I meter you have. It goes as follows on page 13 of 34.
The RED wire should be connected to the Positive of the power source.
The BLACK wire should be connected to the Negative ( Ground ) of the
power source.
The WHITE wire provides the signal output (active current) and should be
connected to the positive terminal of the display, data acquisition system or
current meter with an impedance of 0 - 500Ω (Ohms).
The GREEN wire is NOT used.

Can I use this to measure the permeability of prepreg composite under a vacuum bag?
Thank you for your inquiry about the flow meter. Unfortunately, it is not recommend to use under vacuum. The FMA1700/1800A mass flow meters for gases can measure flow rate in vacuum conditions.
