Supported Applications
The Omega KT011-Series is a small, compact, DIN rail-mountable mechanical thermostat designed for use up to 5,000 meters in altitude. The series utilizes a thermostatic bimetal sensor element and snap-action contact output suitable for regulating heaters, filter fans, heat exchangers, and signal devices.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The KT011-Series operates within an ambient temperature range of -45 to +80 °C (-49 to +176 °F) with a maximum humidity rating of 90 % RH (non-condensing). Measurement ranges are available in two scales: +32 to +140 °F and 0 to +60 °C. The device features an accuracy class of ±7°F (4K) with a switch temperature difference (hysteresis) of 7 K (±4 K tolerance).
Electrical performance is rated for AC 250 V, 50-60 Hz operation. Switching capacity varies by voltage: 10 A at AC 250 V, 15 A at AC 120 V, and 30 W at DC 24-72 V. The maximum inrush current is rated for AC 16 A for 10 sec. Service life is verified to 100,000 cycles.
Configuration Options
The series offers configurable contact types and temperature scales with color-coded dials (red for NC, blue for NO). Key configuration parameters include:
- Contact Type: Normally Closed (NC) or Normally Open (NO).
- Setting Ranges: +32 to +140 °F or 0 to +60 °C.
- Housing & Mounting: Plastic casing according to UL94 V-0, light grey; clip for 35 mm DIN rail (EN 60715).
- Electrical Connection: 2 Push-In clamps supporting rigid wire up to 2.5 mm² (AWG 14) and stranded wire up to 1.5 mm² (AWG 16). Wire end ferrules must be used.
- Approvals & Certifications: CE, cULus, DE, EAC, RoHS3, VDE; UL File No. E164102.
The enclosure rating is IP20 / II with an overvoltage category of II (up to 5,000 m) or III (up to 2,000 m). The fitting position is variable.
Key Product Differences
Variants within the KT011-Series are distinguished by their setting range and contact configuration. Model numbers follow the pattern KT011--. Specific examples include:
- KT011409-U / KT011469-U: Thermostat, NC—open on rise (32 to 140°F or 0 to 60°C).
- KT011419-U / KT011479-U: Thermostat, NO—close on rise (32 to 140°F or 0 to 60°C).
The contact system is subject to environmental influences which may change contact resistance; this can lead to a voltage drop and/or self-heating of the contacts. The level of switching current has an influence on tolerance accuracy.

I bought 3 units to regulate small heaters. Each unit has a different dead band range which is my only complaint. They work and I will buy more when needed.

Is NO switch (or NC) Relay (dry contact), or is it Mosfet tranzistors?

Is this device NEMA rated? and , is the red NC and opens on temperature rise?
Thank you for your inquiry. This device is not NEMA rated, and "NC" (Normally Closed) opens at temperature.

Can this unit operate with a remote sensor? What sensor would be required? If not, what is available that does operate with a remote sensor?
The KT011 series and all like models have internal sensors and no options for remote ones. You would need to call the Temperature group to discuss alternative approaches or email them at temp@omega.com.
