Supported Applications

The Omega LVM50 Series Single Switch Fitting Assemblies are industrial mounting systems designed for installing liquid level sensors vertically within tanks. These assemblies support high or low level switch applications in open tanks and sumps, particularly where corrosive liquids require compatible wetted materials such as Polypropylene (PP), Polyvinylchloride (PVC), or Polyvinylidene Fluoride (PVDF). The system is configured to mount Omega Engineering LVCN-11 or LVCN-12 electrical housings and compact relay controllers directly to the 3/4" NPT fitting at the top.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The series operates within an ambient temperature range of -40 to 70°C (-40 to 158°F) and a process temperature range up to 90°C (194°F). Pressure ratings are specified at 150 psi @ 25°C, with derating applied at 1.667 psi per °C above 25°C. The compact junction box option provides an enclosure rating of NEMA 4X (IP65) for power and signal termination.

Configuration Options

The LVM50 Series offers configurable lengths from 15.20 cm to 2.4 m (6" to 8") based on user specification at the time of order. The assembly consists of a pipe, a 2" NPT fitting, and a 3/4" coupling, with the pipe material selected according to chemical compatibility requirements.

Mounting and Installation Options

• Vertical installation through a standard 2" NPT tank adapter.
• Side mount configuration using the LVM-30 Side Mount Bracket for open tanks or sumps (sold separately).
• User-supplied pipe sections require solvent welding for PVC or thermal welding for PP and PVDF to attach to the switch pack fitting components.

The assembly accommodates various Omega level switches, with nominal length adders including:

• Tuning Fork (LTU-101): 3.5"
• Ultrasonic (LVU-150): 2.0"
• RF Capacitance (LVC-101, LVC-152): 2.0" to 4.0"
• Optic (LVF-210): 2.0"
• Vertical Buoyancy (LVV-110): 4.3"

Key Product Differences

The primary distinction between series variants is the wetted material: LVM-50 utilizes PVC, LVM-51 uses PP, and LVM-52 employs PVDF. The pipe size for the user-supplied section varies by material; LVM-50 requires ¾" (schedule 40) pipe, while LVM-51 and LVM-52 require 25mm (metric) pipe. Components may be purchased unassembled as a fitting with zero length (e.g., LVM-50-00.00), allowing the user to attach their own ¾" pipe section.
