Supported Applications

The Dwyer Model CSG is a handheld Current & Voltage Calibrator designed for generating precise DC current and voltage outputs. It serves as a signal generator for calibration purposes, providing controlled output signals to test or verify instrumentation.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The series operates within an ambient temperature range of 32 to 122°F (0 to 50°C). Output performance is defined by the following specifications:

  • Current Range: 0.0 to 20.0 mA DC in 1 mA steps
  • Voltage Range: 0.0 to 10.0 V DC in 1 V steps
  • Accuracy at 25°C (Current): +/- 0.05 mA DC
  • Accuracy at 25°C (Voltage): +/- 0.05 V DC
  • Load Impedance: Current: 300 ohms maximum; Voltage: 1000 ohms minimum

The unit features a large LCD display with 0.59"H (15mm) numerical digits and annunciators for "RAMP", "OVER LOAD", "mA", "V", "TIME", and low battery status. A blue backlight is energized via a momentary side switch.

Configuration Options

The Model CSG supports manual and auto ramping configurations to simulate dynamic signal changes:

  • Ramping - Manual: Anywhere in range
  • Ramping - Auto Values: User adjustable Min. & Max. values anywhere within range
  • Ramping - Auto Step Time: User adjustable from 1 to 20 seconds, in 1 second increments

Power is supplied by a 9V Battery (NEDA1604, JIS006P, or IEC6F22) providing up to 30 hours of continuous use, or via a provided 120 V AC adapter for bench-top operation. An auto power-off feature allows user-adjustable delay times from 1 to 20 minutes after the last key press, which can also be disabled.

Electrical connections utilize BNC-style jacks for mA XMITR, mA OUTPUT, VOLTS OUTPUT, and EXT POWER. The unit includes a 6' (1.8 m) cable with alligator clips. An external mA transmitter source accepts voltages from 12V minimum to 30V peak maximum.
