Supported Applications

The Weiss Series 4CTS, 4CTA, and 4CTN are 4.5" HVAC pressure gauges designed for general service conditions in HVAC, plumbing, and industrial systems. These instruments measure pressure or vacuum on air, oil, water, gas, or other media that do not attack brass.

The series is UL certified in accordance with NSF/ANSI 372/61 for use with potable water applications.

Operating Conditions & Performance

This gauge family delivers ±1.0% accuracy (ASME B40.100 Grade 1A) across a pressure rating up to 600 psi and vacuum ranges starting at 30" Hg/0. The operating temperature range is -40-180°F (-40-85°C), with an ambient temperature limit of -40-140°F (-40-60°C).

Standard pressure-only ranges include 0/15 psi, 0/30 psi, 0/60 psi, 0/100 psi, 0/160 psi, 0/200 psi, 0/300 psi, 0/400 psi, and 0/600 psi. Combined vacuum and pressure ranges are available from 30" Hg/0 up to 30"Hg/0/300 psi.

Installation notes specify that Weiss gauges should always be installed with a shut-off valve for gauge removal. For applications involving pressure spikes, surges, or pulsations, the series requires installation of a pressure snubber in conjunction with the gauge. In steam service, protection from excessive temperature is required by installing a coil type syphon.

Configuration Options

The Series 4CTS-1 features a 4.5" drawn stainless steel housing and a Lexan window. The internal sensing element utilizes a phosphor bronze tube, while the socket consists of <0.25% Lead Free Brass with lead-free soldered connections.

Variants within this series are distinguished by their measurement ranges and dial scale configurations. The 4CTS-1, 4CTA-1, and 4CTN-1 prefixes denote specific model families available in the 58 enumerated variants.

Dual-scale models (e.g., PSI & kPa) are identified by part numbers lacking a "PO" suffix, while single-scale or pressure-only configurations often include the "PO" designation. Vacuum-capable ranges utilize codes such as VAC, V15, V30, up to V300, indicating combined vacuum and positive pressure capabilities.
