Supported Applications
The Omega SA1-TH Series consists of self-adhesive polyimide fast response thermistor surface sensors designed for "stick-on" or "cement-on" mounting to target devices. The series supports installation on both flat and curved surfaces, with a design that allows the sensor to be removed and re-applied.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The SA1-TH Series operates across two primary temperature envelopes depending on the selected thermistor element:
- Standard models (e.g., 44004–44008): Storage and working range of -80 to 120°C (-110 to 250°F) for best stability, with a maximum working temperature of 150°C.
- Optional tighter interchangeability models (e.g., 44030–44034): Storage and working range of -80 to 75°C (-110 to 165°F), with a maximum working temperature of 75°C.
Interchangeability is specified as ±0.2°C at 0 to 70°C for standard models and ±0.1°C at 0 to 70°C for optional tighter interchangeability thermistors. The sensors feature a polyimide construction with overall dimensions of 19 mm (0.75") x 25 mm (1").
Electrical Characteristics by Model
The series offers multiple resistance values at 25°C, selected via the model number:
- Standard Interchangeability (±0.2°C): Available in 2252 Ω, 3000 Ω, 5000 Ω, 10000 Ω, and 30000 Ω.
- Tighter Interchangeability (±0.1°C): Available in 2252 Ω, 3000 Ω, 5000 Ω, 10,000 Ω, and 30,000 Ω.
Configuration Options
The SA1-TH Series is configurable for specific installation needs through model number modifiers. Standard electrical connection includes 1 m (40") of 26 AWG stranded PFA insulated and jacketed cable with stripped leads.
- Connector Options: A phone plug connector is available by adding "-PP" to the model number.
- Cable Lengths: Additional cable length can be specified by appending the required length (in meters or feet) to the end of the model number for additional cost. Example: SA1-TH-44034-80-T indicates 2 m (80") of cable.
- Protection: Optional over braiding is available by adding "-SB" to the end of the model number, priced per meter or foot for additional cost.
Ordering Configuration Examples
The series uses a structured naming convention: SA1-TH-<RESISTANCE>-<LENGTH>-T. Specific configurations include:
- SA1-TH-44004-40-T-PP: Surface mount thermistor sensor with 2252 Ω resistance at 25°C, ±0.2°C interchangeability, 1 m (40") of PFA insulated and jacketed cable, and a phone plug connector.
- SA1-TH-44034-80-T-PP: Surface mount thermistor sensor with 5000 Ω resistance at 25°C, ±0.1°C interchangeability, 2 m (80") of PFA insulated and jacketed cable, and a phone plug connector.
Key Product Differences
Variants within the SA1-TH Series are distinguished primarily by thermistor resistance value at 25°C, interchangeability tolerance, maximum working temperature limits, and optional physical configurations. Standard models (44004–44008) provide a higher maximum working temperature of 150°C with ±0.2°C interchangeability. Optional tighter interchangeability models (44030–44034) offer ±0.1°C accuracy but are limited to a maximum working temperature of 75°C.
Physical variations include the standard stripped lead configuration versus the optional phone plug connector, and the availability of extended cable lengths or protective over braiding as specified in the model number suffixes.

Leads need insulation
Thermistor Leads shorted because there is no insulation on them. Also reviewing the review tool used to write this review...it has required fields, why not let the customer determine what information they want to provide with the review.

Can the adhesive film be trimmed with no issues? The footprint is too large for my application.
Thank you for your inquiry. We do not recommend trimming the adhesive pad as it could affect the adhering capability of the sensor.

Where is the full data sheet with the Steinhart-Hart equations? I know it was answered in someone else's question, but there only appears to be one data sheet that is one page long.
Please find equations and constants in following link;

How do you convert the Thermistor resistance into degree Celsius? Do you have the equation? Thank you
You can calculate the temperature by using the Steinhart-Hart equations found on the Thermistor element data sheet. You can use "Thermistor Elements" in the search box to get to the appropriate page.

Hi. Is there a spec drawing of the sensor without the cable? Replacement sensor item number would also be helpful. Thank you.
Thank you for your inquiry. The drawing is available in the data sheet. We do not offer a replacement sensor for these.

Is there a detailed procedure for cementing this product to aluminum?
We have no formal procedure. Basically, please follow the steps below.
1) Peel adhesive backing off of the SA1 sensor.
2) Apply to clean surface.
3) With the SA1 sensor in place, spread your prepared cement mixture over the 'edges' of the SA1 pad and onto the surface being attached to, being sure that there is no 'break' in the cement material between the pad and material surface.
4) Allow to cure according to cement instructions.

Per ISO 13732-1 standard, 5.4.2; The measurement of the surface temperature shall be carried out by means of an electrical thermometer with a contact sensor made of metal and insignificant heat capacity. Does this thermistor have a metal contact sensor?
Thank you for your inquiry. This unit does not have a metal contact surface. Refer to the ON-909 Thermistor Sensors.
