Supported Applications

The Omega PR30 series comprises temperature sensors designed for oil, fuel, and other liquids. These probes feature a threaded mounting port and an integral non-hermetic circular connector to facilitate installation in liquid process environments.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The PR30 series operates within a measurement range of -50 to 200°C (32 to 212°F). Accuracy specifications vary by sensor type: Pt100 and Pt1000 RTD models meet IEC Class A standards with ±0.15°C accuracy at 0°C, while thermistor variants offer ±0.2°C accuracy between 0 and 70°C.

Measurement current limits are defined by the sensor element: 1 milliamp max for Pt100 RTD models, 0.5 milliamp max for Pt1000 RTD models, and 10 to 15 microamps for thermistor sensors (2252 Ω, 3000 Ω, 5000 Ω, and 10,000 Ω at 25°C).

Configuration Options

The series supports multiple sensor configurations to address specific measurement needs. Available output signals include:

• Pt100 RTD (100 Ω at 0°C)
• Pt1000 RTD (1000 Ω at 0°C)
• 2252 Ω at 25°C thermistor
• 3000 Ω at 25°C thermistor
• 5000 Ω at 25°C thermistor
• 10,000 Ω at 25°C thermistor

Mechanical construction features all welded stainless steel in the wetted area. The probe utilizes a 7/16-20 UNF-2A port mounting thread with an FKM O-ring seal and terminates in an MS3112E8-4P circular connector that mates with a PT06E8-4S connector.

Standard insertion lengths include 2.5 inches (diameter: 0.250 ±0.005"), though other sensor types and lengths are available upon request. Accessories offered for the series include the PSMP-4S mating PT06E8-4S-SR connector and a 5-pack of FKM O-rings (part number 5PSOR).

Key Product Differences

The PR30 model numbering follows the format PR30-<SENSOR_TYPE>-<LENGTH>. Distinctions between variants are primarily defined by the sensor element and insertion length. For example, models such as PR-30-PT100A-0250 utilize a 4-wire RTD configuration with IEC Class A accuracy, while models like PR-30-TH2252-0250 employ a 2-wire thermistor sensor. Specific insertion lengths are indicated in the model code (e.g., -0100 for 1 inch, -0250 for 2.5 inches).
