Supported Applications
The Omega PRTFCU series consists of Fast Response Copper Tip RTD Sensors designed for temperature measurement. These probes feature a copper alloy tip to achieve rapid thermal response, documented as a maximum of 2 seconds in water at 3' sec flow velocity.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The PRTFCU series operates within a process temperature range of -50 to 260°C. The sensors utilize 100 Ω Class "B" DIN thin film platinum elements, providing an accuracy of ±0.30°C @ 0°C in accordance with IEC CLASS B standards.
Configuration Options
The series is configurable across probe diameters, insertion lengths, and wire configurations to meet specific installation needs.
Sensor Elements and Electrical Specifications
- Element: 100 Ω Class "B" DIN Platinum thin film.
- Wire Configurations: Supplied standard as 3-wire; 2- and 4-wire configurations are available (consult Sales for price and availability).
- Cable Assembly: Includes a 1 m (40") extension cable with 3-conductor #26 AWG stranded nickel plated copper, PFA insulated, and PFA jacketed.
- Color Codes: Wires follow IEC751/ASTM-E-1137 color codes.
Mechanical Dimensions

- Diameters (Metric): 6 mm (-M60) or 4.5 mm (-M45).
- Probe Lengths: Standard inch lengths include 6", 9", 12", 18", and 24"; metric lengths include 150, 225, 300, 450, and 600 mm. Intermediate lengths are available by ordering the next longer length for pricing.
- Overall Length: Minimum of 2".
Options
- Strain Relief: Shrink tube strain relief is available; specify "-ST" at the end of the model number.
- Pricing Notes: Probes over 24" incur additional cost per inch. Metric probes over 600 mm incur additional cost per 25 mm.
