Supported Applications

The Omega FLT series consists of replacement flow tubes designed for use with FL-3000 Series variable area flow meters, Multi-Tube Assemblies, and Gas Proportioners. These accessory flow tubes measure gas and liquid flow rate in systems requiring precise monitoring or control.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The FLT series provides a 150 mm overall length for installation in compatible variable area meters. Flow capacities are calibrated based on air and water at 21°C (70°F) and 14.7 psia, offering a 10:1 range for gas flow capacities. The minimum flow is equal to 10% of the maximum listed value.

While standard calibrations apply to specific conditions, equations are provided within documentation for approximating flow with other fluids or under different operating parameters. For highest precision in non-standard applications, field calibration is required.

Configuration Options

Float Materials and Suffixes

The series supports multiple float materials to accommodate various media compatibility needs. Float types are designated by specific suffix codes:

• G = black glass
• SA = red sapphire
• ST = 316 stainless steel
• C = carboloy
• T = tantalum

Media Compatibility and Density Data

The documented media compatibility includes Air, Water, Argon, CO₂, He, H, N, and O. The series data sheet provides material density values for the float options:

• Glass: 2.53 g/ml
• Sapphire: 3.98 g/ml
• Stainless steel: 8.04 g/ml
• Carboloy: 14.98 g/ml
• Tantalum: 16.58 g/ml

Key Product Differences

The FLT series is identified by the model pattern FLT--, such as FLT-45G or FLT-02ST-NISTAIR. The numeric portion of the part number (e.g., 02, 39, 61) corresponds to specific flow ranges and meter configurations within the FL-3000 Series ecosystem.

Correlation sheets for air and water are included with these replacement tubes. Variants such as FLT-02ST-NISTAIR indicate specialized calibration or service options available within the series envelope.
