Supported Applications

The ACI Relative Humidity with Nickel RTD Outside Air Series is a transmitter designed for use in commercial heating and cooling building management systems. It monitors relative humidity and space temperature using an integrated capacitive sensing element and a Nickel RTD sensor.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The series operates within a Relative Humidity range of 0 to 95% RH, non-condensing. The measurement output spans 0-100%. Accuracy specifications vary by selected model: +/- 1% over a 20% RH Range between 20 to 90%, or +/- 2% or 3% from 10 to 95%. Operating temperature is -40 to 140°F (-40 to 60°C), with storage capability up to 149°F (65°C). The typical response time (T63) is 20 seconds. Stability is rated at less than 2% drift over 5 years.

Configuration Options

Housings and Enclosures

  • Euro (-EH): ABS Plastic, UL94-V0 rating; dimensions include a front view of 4.30" (109.22mm).
  • NEMA 4X (-4X): Polystyrene Plastic, UL94-V2, NEMA 4X (IP 66) rating.

Sensors and Outputs

The series features a capacitive RH sensor with a hydrophobic filter. An optional Nickel RTD temperature sensor is available as part of the configuration. Output signals are field-selectable via integral DIP switches:

  • 2-wire: 4-20 mA (Factory Default)
  • 3-wire: 0-5 VDC or 0-10 VDC

Power and Connections

Screw terminal blocks accept wire sizes from 16 AWG to 26 AWG. Power supply requirements depend on the output configuration:

  • 4-20 mA: 15 - 40 VDC / 18 - 28 VAC (Load dependent)
  • 0-5 VDC or 0-10 VDC: 12 - 40 VDC / 18 - 28 VAC

Certifications and Options

The series carries CE, UKCA, RoHS, and WEEE approvals. Three-point NIST Calibration Certificates are available as an option.

Key Product Differences

Variants differ primarily by accuracy class (RH1 for +/- 1%, RH2 for +/- 2%, RH3 for +/- 3%) and enclosure type (-O for Euro, -4X for NEMA). Model numbers follow the format A/RH<Accuracy>-1K-NI-<Configuration>. The Nickel RTD sensor output is nominal 1 KΩ at 70°F (21.1°C) with Red/Red wire colors.
