Supported Applications

The Omega FD613 Series consists of portable Doppler ultrasonic flow meters designed to measure fluid velocity in closed piping systems. These devices utilize advanced Trans-Phase measuring technology with a non-invasive clamp-on transducer that attaches to the exterior of metal, plastic, or rubber pipes. The series is specifically engineered for liquids containing suspended solids or entrained gases, requiring a minimum concentration of 100 ppm of particles sized at 100 microns or larger to act as reflectors.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The FD613 Series operates within an ambient temperature range of -28°F to +140°F (-20°C to +60°C) and a process (transducer) temperature range of -40°F to +180°F (-40°C to +82°C). The unit functions in humidity levels from 0 to 95% non-condensing. Measurement capabilities cover flow velocities from 0.30 to 30.0 FPS [0.10 to 9.00 MPS]. Accuracy is specified as ±2% full scale (FS).

The handheld readout features a large 18 mm (0.7") LCD display that provides stable readings in either Feet per Second or Meters per Second, along with signal strength and low battery indications.

Configuration Options

Sensors & Mounting Options

• FD613-S1: Clamp-on sensor designed for pipes with ¼ to 1" diameter. This small pipe sensor features a two-piece clamp-on head.
• FD613-S2: Clamp-on sensor intended for pipes 1" diameter and larger.

Housing & Materials

• Transducer Material: Plated body with Ultrem 1000 sensor material.
• Cable: Includes a 2 m (6.6') cable and connector.

Key Product Differences

The series offers distinct model configurations based on the inclusion of sensors and approvals:

• FD614-CE: Complete kit including CE approval, handheld readout, and a sensor for pipes 1" diameter and larger (equivalent to FD613-S2).

The standard package includes the carrying case, silicone couplant, four "AA" batteries, NIST certificate, and operator's manual. Replacement alkaline batteries are available as part number MN1500-4.
