The Omega OM-EL-USB-1 Series consists of portable temperature data loggers designed to measure and store up to 16,382 temperature readings. The series is configured for use with Windows 98, 2000, or XP operating systems via a purpose-designed software application that allows users to set logging rates, start times, graph results, print reports, and export data.

Excellent value, does what was advertised
Easy to use logger, software provided on a CD.
Pros very easy to use program, small unit, Omega's service is excellent
Cons, the usb cover on one unit split just from putting it on, but I think it's more for looks than protection. If you don't have a CD drive that could be a problem. The logger must be restarted every time you read it so you can't get short term readings out of it and have a long log at the same time.
Not a pro or con, the program allows you to set the logging frequency to times as short as 10 seconds. I almost can't imagine the sensor being able to register an air temperature change though it's case, in that short time.

Poor Battery - Doesn't work in Freezer
The battery died within 48 hours of being in a -20 freezer. The device is advertised to work down to -35C. Not as described at all.

A fine addition to a Quality Engineer's toolbox
I needed a data logger to better understand the ambient conditions of in-process product, final product in storage and final product in transit to our customers. The OM-EL-USB fit the need perfectly.
And software is simple, effective and free.

Good Sensor/logger Package
Simple and easy to use software, but provides enough flexibility to allow for delay deployment, and high/low alarms. I have the temp and humidity version. Two currently installed in an outdoors environment, but semi-protected from direct rain and sunlight. Time will tell how they will hold up, but not really designed for using outdoors. So far, very happy.

I have an om-el-usb 1lcd. I have download the software but am unable to get the software to find the usb stick. i't won't install the usb driver

How often do these need to be calibrated and how much is it to calibrate them?
Calibration is not economically feasible. If units read out of tolerance than it is best to trade-in for new and get a 20% discount.

Can this be used in a water bath or sanitation parts washer?
Thank you for your question. The logger is not designed to be submerged in any type of fluid. It is designed for ambient temperature.

I have several OM-EL-USB-1 but the software seems to not be compatible with 64 bit PC. Do you have updated software for contemporary PCs? Thank you

Thanks for connecting with us. Each data logger is supplied with Windows software on CD-ROM, operator’s manual and 3.6V lithium battery. Data logger plugs directly into computer’s USB port (no USB cable required). The battery is replaceable and the part number is OM-EL-BATT.

If you require a certificate of calibration along with the device, the part number you need to order is OM-EL-USB-1-NIST, which is the same logger only it also includes the certificate of calibration.
