Supported Applications
The Omega FT-HFC-35 Series consists of thermoplastic quick couplings designed for high-purity and deionized water, filtration equipment, pharmaceutical applications, heavy equipment cooling lines, food and beverage serving equipment, bioprocessing lines, and laboratory instrumentation. These Polysulfone High Flow Couplings are engineered to provide physical strength, autoclaving capability, and chemical resistance while offering a lightweight alternative to stainless steel or brass fittings.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The series operates within a process temperature range of -40 to 137.8°C (-40 to 280°F). The maximum working pressure is rated at 8.8 bar (125 psi), with specific performance characteristics detailed in the FT-HFC Series Pressure to Temperature graph, which indicates a maximum working pressure of 120 psi (8.3 bar) at 137.8°C.
Wetted materials include Polysulfone for the housing and EPR seals, with 316 Stainless Steel components present in specific configurations. The series holds RoHS compliance by individual model number, NSF standard C-2 certification, and USP Class VI approval.
Configuration Options
The FT-HFC-35 Series (3/8" Flow Polysulfone) is fully interchangeable with the FT-HFC-12 Series couplings. The series supports a broad range of body types, thread standards, and flow functions to accommodate diverse piping requirements.
Body Types & Mounting
- Coupling Bodies: Male Pipe Thread (NPT/BS), Female Pipe Thread, In-Line Hose Barb, Bulkhead Panel Mount, Elbow Hose Barb Insert, and Straight Thru configurations.
- Bulkhead Specifications: Requires a panel thickness of 0.030" to 0.25", a mounting hole diameter of 1.20", and a minimum coupling spacing of 1.87". Installation requires Greenlee 730K-3/16 Keyway Punch Unit and 730S Hole Punch.
Connections & Tubing Sizes
- Tubing IDs: Available for 3/8" (9.5 mm), 1/2" (12.7 mm), and 3/4" (19 mm) tubing.
- Thread Standards: Includes NPT, BS (British Standard), Garden Hose (GdnHs), and Bulkhead Panel Mount (BP).
Flow Functions & Model Structure
The series offers Straight Thru, Shutoff, and Full Flow models. The model number guide follows the format: FT-HFC-35 Series - BODY TYPE - THREAD/TUBING SIZE - FUNCTION - FLOW TYPE. Examples include FT-HFC106-35, FT-HFCD176-35 (Shutoff), and FT-FFC1912-35BP (Full Flow). Note that some configurations in the specification tables are marked as "—", indicating no available model for that specific combination.
Key Product Differences
Variants within the series differ primarily by body geometry, connection type, and flow function. The catalog distinguishes between:
- Straight Thru Models (e.g., FT-HFC106-35): Standard through-flow configurations.
- Shutoff Models (e.g., FT-HFCD106-35): Include a shutoff function, identified by the "D" in the model number sequence.
- Full Flow Models (e.g., FT-FFC108-35): Designed for maximum flow capacity, available on select 1/2", 3/4", and bulkhead configurations but not all sizes or body types.
The series also includes specific insert variants such as Male Pipe Thread Inserts (FT-HFC2xx-35), Hose Barb Inserts (FT-HFC22x-35), Elbow Hose Barb Inserts, and Female Pipe Thread Inserts. Lengths vary by configuration, ranging from 1.73" to 3.07" depending on the body type and thread size.

Bad o-ring
I use these quick connect for my home brewery. Very good design and practical. Food grade, support temperature for brewing. Standard o-ring (buna-n) do not support hot liquid, I had to replace all of them with viton type. They should come with such better quality o-ring.
