Supported Applications

The Dwyer Series UV Ultra-View™ Polysulfone Flowmeters are ultra-pure, laboratory-grade variable area flowmeters designed for measuring the flow of water, air, and other compatible liquids and gases. These instruments feature a dual scale that displays readings in GPM (gallons per minute) and LPM (liters per minute). The series is engineered to provide high corrosion resistance while maintaining accuracy in laboratory environments.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The Series UV operates within a process temperature range of 35 to 212°F (2 to 100°C) and supports pressures up to 150 psi (10.34 bar). Accuracy is specified as ±2% FS @ 70°F ±2°F (21.1°C) and 14.7 psia for in-line connection ratings only, with repeatability of ±1% FS under the same conditions.

Measurement ranges are available across multiple models:

• Liquid Flow (Water): Ranges from 0.25 to 40.0 GPM (1 to 150 LPM).
• Gas Flow (Air): Ranges from 1 to 100 SCFM (30 to 2800 LPM).

The overall scale length varies by model, ranging from 6" (152.40 mm) to 7" (177.80 mm). The unit weight is approximately 1 lb (457 g) for the 20 GPM range.

Configuration Options

The series offers configurable options and accessories to adapt to specific installation requirements:

• Housing & Wetted Materials: Constructed with a Polysulfone body and fittings, Fluoroelastomer O-rings, and a Virgin PTFE float.
• Process Connections: Standard 1" female NPT connections are provided. An optional 90° polysulfone elbow is available for 1" male NPT configurations.
• Protection & Mounting Options:
  • Suffix -SHD: Protective polycarbonate shield.
  • A-801: Panel mount kit with polysulfone fittings.
• Maintenance Parts:
  • A-162: In-line fitting replacement kit including two 1" female NPT connection fittings.

Installation notes specify a maximum torque of 22 ft-lb for fittings. For PVC 1" female NPT fittings, the model number suffix changes from "12" to "22." The series is intended for indoor use only or areas without direct sunlight due to polysulfone's sensitivity to ultraviolet light.

Key Product Differences

The Series UV distinguishes between liquid and gas measurement through specific model numbering:

• Liquid Models (UV-0112 to UV-5112): Designed for water flow ranging from 0.25 GPM up to 40.0 GPM.
• Gas Models (UV-A112 to UV-D112): Designed for air flow ranging from 1 SCFM up to 100 SCFM.

All models share the same Polysulfone construction and pressure rating of 150 psi. The series does not include electrical outputs or digital communication capabilities; it is a purely mechanical visual indicator system with dual-scale markings for GPM/LPM (liquid) or SCFM/LPM (gas).
