Supported Applications
The Omega AMP Series consists of NEMA 4X non-metallic polycarbonate electrical enclosures designed to insulate and protect electrical controls and components. These units are intended for indoor and outdoor applications, specifically suited for higher temperatures and corrosive environments. The series is UV stabilized for outdoor use.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The AMP Series housing material is injection molded polycarbonate thermoplastic with a nominal wall thickness of 3.7 mm (0.14"). Enclosures are rated for an ambient operating temperature range of -35 to 130°C (-31 to 266°F). The series carries UL94 flammability rating and meets IEC 60529: Type IP66.
Media compatibility includes mild acid conditions such as aluminum chloride, boric acid, calcium chloride, sea water, sodium nitrate, and zinc chloride. Approvals include UL Types: 1, 2, 3, 4, 4x, 12 and 13; CSA Types: 1, 2, 3, 3R, 4 4X, 12 and 13; NEMA Types: 1, 2, 3, 3R, 4, 4X, 12 and 13. Additional certifications include UL50, UL50E, UL508A, UL706C, CSA-C22: No. 14, CAN/CSA-C22: No.94, and RoHS.
Configuration Options
The series offers five box sizes with inside dimensions ranging from AMP664 (151 x 156 x 101 mm / 5.93 x 6.16 x 3.98 in) to AMP1426 (354 x 309 x 152 mm / 13.93 x 12.16 x 5.98 in). Covers are available as solid or clear, with raised covers providing additional depth.
Closure and mounting configurations include:
- Solid cover with four screws
- Lift-off cover with four screws
- Molded-in hinge with two screws (stainless steel hinge pins)
- Plastic snap latch closures
- Stainless steel (SS) snap latch closures, including padlocking options
Optional accessories include aluminum sub-panels (AMP-PLA66 through AMP-PLA142), carbon steel sub-panels painted white (SCE-6P6 through SCE-14P12), and hinged front panel kits (OM-HFPP66 through OM-HFPP142). Front panel stops can be installed from the edge of the box to 1.5" deep into the box.

Key Product Differences
Variants differ by box size, cover type (solid or clear), and closure mechanism. Model numbers follow the pattern AMP. For example, F denotes a solid cover with four screws; H indicates a hinge with two screws; CCLF represents a clear cover with an SS snap latch.
The OM-AM series plastic enclosures (distinct from the AMP Series) feature a raised cover with an additional 22 mm (0.88") depth to accommodate meters and controllers, whereas the AMP Series dimensions are defined by their specific box size tables without this added depth specification in the primary data sheet.
