Supported Applications
The Omega RH32 Series is a pocket-size handheld data logger designed for measuring and logging temperature, relative humidity, and dewpoint. The series supports general industrial and environmental monitoring applications. Per manufacturer warnings, the device is not designed for use in human applications.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The RH32 Series measures temperature ranges of -10 to 50°C (14 to 122°F) for the built-in sensor model (RH32B), and -40 to 80°C (-40 to 176°F) for miniature separate type (RH32S) and probe type (RH32P) sensors. Relative humidity is measured from 0 to 100% RH.
Accuracy specifications vary by range: ±0.5°C (±0.9°F) from 0 to 50°C (32 to 120°F), and ±1°C (±1.8°F) below 0°C (32°F) or above 50°C (120°F). Humidity accuracy is specified as ±2% RH [0 to 90% RH and 25°C (76°F)] and ±3% RH [90 to 95% RH and 25°C (76°F)]. The typical response time is within 15 seconds for a 90% response at 25°C constant under 0.1 m/s ventilation.
The unit features an LCD display with datalogging capability up to 8,000 readings and includes buttons for navigation (UP, DOWN, DISP, ENT, LOCK). An auto-power-off function is set to ON by default, turning off the device after 1 minute of inactivity. The enclosure rating is IP54.
Configuration Options
The series offers configurable sensor types and communication interfaces via a plug-in connector system:
- Sensor Types: Built-in (RH32B), Miniature separate type (RH32S), or Probe type (RH32P). Sensors are interchangeable by plug-in, including cable for probe and separate types.
- Communication Ports: RS-232C (-C2 suffix) or RS-485 (-C4 suffix).
The device is powered by 2 "AA" batteries (included) or via an optional AC power adapter (RH32-AC110, recommended when using RS-485 to avoid rapid battery consumption). Optional software includes RH32-SW1 for RS-232C download and real-time analysis, and RH32-SW2 for RS-485 multipoint real-time only. Replacement sensors are available as plug-in parts (RH32B-RP, RH32S-RP, RH32P-RP).
Key Product Differences
The series distinguishes models by sensor configuration and communication protocol:
- RH32B-C2 / RH32B-C4: Built-in sensor with RS-232C or RS-485 communications.
- RH32S-C2 / RH32S-C4: Miniature separate type sensor with RS-232C or RS-485 communications.
- RH32P-C2 / RH32P-C4: Probe type sensor with RS-232C or RS-485 communications.
The series carries CE approval and offers an optional 1-year warranty extension. NIST-traceable calibration (CAL-3-HU) is available as an accessory option.

Omega Handheld Humidity Meter.
This is the 3rd Omega Humidity meter we have purchased and have found them very reliable, durable and accurate. The small form factor makes them easy to use in our lab and in the field. Only issue is they tend to eat batteries, so I suggest getting the DC power supply that goes with this unit.
