Supported Applications

The Omega HHMM257 Pinless Moisture Meter is a non-invasive moisture sensor designed for wood and other building materials. Utilizing high-frequency sensing technology, the device measures moisture content without penetrating the surface.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The meter provides measurements across a range of 0.0 to 100.0 percent moisture. It senses moisture to a depth of 0.79 to 1.57" (20 to 40mm). The device is shipped fully tested and calibrated; however, the manufacturer notes that calibration must be performed before first use and whenever moved to a new measurement area.

Operational constraints include specific handling requirements: the position of the hand can greatly affect a reading, so users should not move or reposition their hands while taking measurements or calibrating. The calibration reading must not exceed 0.5; if it does, recalibration is required ensuring hands or other objects are kept clear.

Configuration Options

The HHMM257 series features a single power button and an LCD display with MAX/MIN tracking capabilities. The meter includes user-programmable alarms for DRY, RISK, and WET conditions to alert the operator of moisture levels.

• Display Features: Main LCD display showing measurement values, Low Battery icon, HOLD function indicator, Measurement alert icons, MAX mode icon, MIN mode icon, and separate indicators for MAX reading and MIN reading.
• User Interface Controls: Power ON-OFF button (single), Measure (MEAS) button, UP and BACKLIGHT button, SET button, and DOWN button.
• Power Supply: Three (3) 'AAA' 1.5V batteries.

The device provides audible feedback based on moisture thresholds: the meter will beep once every two seconds if moisture is higher than the RISK setting, and four times per second if higher than the WET setting.
