Product Overview
- Series ID WTS-Series
Supported Applications
The Omega WTS-Series Water and Soil Quality Test Strips are designed for measuring various water quality parameters including Free Chlorine, Total Chlorine, pH, Total Alkalinity, Total Hardness, Peroxide, Iodine, Iron, Copper, Nitrate, and Nitrite. The product line is engineered for quick, easy, and safe field use with no setup time or reagent mixing required.
These test strips are suitable for testing cloudy or colored water samples. Applications include single-parameter tests as well as combination strips that measure multiple parameters simultaneously (e.g., 4-in-1, 5-in-1 configurations).
Operating Conditions & Performance
The WTS-Series provides accurate results within under 1 minute of application. The series covers a broad envelope of detection levels across specific water quality metrics:
- Free Chlorine Water Check: 0.05 to 10 PPM (mg/L)
- Total Chlorine: 0.05 to 80 PPM (mg/L), with high-range options available
- pH: 2 to 12
- Total Alkalinity: 0 to 360 PPM (mg/L)
- Total Hardness: 40 to 425 PPM (mg/L), with options extending to gpg scales
- Peroxide: 0.02 to 30,000 PPM (mg/L)
- Iodine: 0.02 to 300 PPM (mg/L)
- Iron: 0.02 to 5.0 PPM (mg/L)
- Copper: 0.5 to 10.0 PPM (mg/L)
- Nitrate Nitrogen: 0 to 50 PPM (mg/L)
- Nitrite Nitrogen: 0.15 to 10 PPM (mg/L)
The Free Chlorine Water Check is currently under US EPA evaluation.
Configuration Options
The series supports multiple packaging formats and configuration options tailored for different testing frequencies:
- Packaging Options: Available in bottles of 50 or individual packets of 30 (e.g., WTS-481126).
- Detection Ranges: Includes both low-range and high-range (HR*) options for certain parameters such as Free Chlorine.
- Combination Strips: Models include 5-in-1 strips covering free/total chlorine, pH, total alkalinity, and total hardness; 4-in-1 strips are also offered.
Detailed color charts for comparison are provided with the test kits. For optimal results during testing, a back-and-forth motion of 1" to 2" (2.5 to 5.0 cm) strokes at approximately 40 strokes over 20 seconds is recommended.
Key Product Differences
The WTS-Series distinguishes variants by parameter focus, detection range, and packaging type:
- Single Parameter vs. Combination: Models are available for individual parameters (e.g., Iron test WTS-480125) or multi-parameter strips (e.g., 5-in-1 strip WTS-480115).
- Range Specifics: High-range models, denoted with HR* in descriptions such as Free chlorine check HR*, offer extended detection levels up to higher PPM values compared to standard ranges.
- Packaging Distinctions: Some parameters are offered exclusively or primarily in individual packet formats (e.g., WTS-481126 for Free Chlorine Water Check), while others utilize bottle packaging containing 50 strips.

Not at all accurate!!
I purchased your ph check test strips (part number WTS-480104) about a month ago. I have orchids and wanted to keep our water's ph within acceptable standards for my cattleyas. Your test strips, after running our cold water for a three minute flush and multiple check attempts, revealed a ph of 8.0-8.5! I purchased organic citric acid to correct to 7.0. Fortunately, before I corrected the ph, I took a sample of our water into the dialysis unit where I work. Our $1000 conductivity and ph meter showed a ph of 7.2 - three times! Of course the meter was tested for accuracy against standard solutions. I then checked the ph with your test strips, which once again read 8.0!! Sadly, a less expensive reel paper strip for checking water ph, that a purchased the day before I took the water sample into dialysis, read our water ph at 7.0. I then used your strips to double check the results, and it again read 8.0! Your product is worthless and could have caused damage to my expensive orchids through correcting the water ph to a low acidic level before watering!!
