Supported Applications

The Omega TTSF series comprises flanged immersion heaters designed for industrial water boilers and storage tanks. These units feature high watt density to facilitate rapid heat transfer in liquid heating processes.

Operating Conditions & Performance

Type TTSF heaters operate within a power range of 5 to 18 kW, supplied by 208 VAC or 480 VAC at 3 Phase. The series delivers watt densities ranging from 79 to 184 W/in² depending on the specific model configuration.

Sheath diameters are standardized at 0.315" (0.8 cm). Two distinct sheath material options define operational suitability:

• Incoloy®: Used in steam boiler heaters, providing protection against hard water containing minerals, scale, and salts while resisting stress, corrosion, cracking, and sulphur attack.
• Copper: Used in water heater configurations with a copper face plate.

Units are UL Component Recognized and manufactured in the USA. The series is not supplied with enclosures as they are intended for mounting within boilers or tanks that provide surrounding terminal protection.

Configuration Options

The TTSF series offers configurable electrical ratings, watt densities, and physical dimensions to match specific installation requirements. Selection follows the model number guide: TTSF-<kW>-<Volts>-<Circ. Phase>-<W/in.²>-<Dim. B in. (cm)>.

Key configurable parameters include:

• Power Ratings: 5 kW, 10 kW, 13.5 kW, 15 kW, and 18 kW.
• Voltage Options: 208 VAC, 240 VAC, or 480 VAC (Single Phase).
• Watt Density: Configurable from 79 W/in² to 184 W/in².
• Dimensions: Dimension B varies by model, ranging from 12" (30 cm) for lower wattage units up to 34" (86 cm) or specific lengths such as 24⅞", 17⅞", and 21⅛".
• Process Connection: All models feature a 2½" (6 cm) Square Steel Flange with four 0.412" (1.05") diameter holes on a 2½" (6") bolt circle.

Weights range from 2 to 4 lb (0.9 to 2 kg).

Key Product Differences

Variants within the TTSF series are distinguished by their power output, voltage rating, and sheath material application.

• TTSF-31xx Series (e.g., TTSF-3135, TTSF-3150): These models typically feature higher watt densities (up to 184 W/in²) and specific dimensional configurations such as 13⅞" or 21⅛" lengths.
• Standard Series Models: Include lower watt density options (79–94 W/in²) with longer dimension B values, available in power ratings from 5 kW to 18 kW across various voltage inputs.

The series includes specific model numbers such as TTSF-001 through TTSF-3180, each corresponding to a unique combination of kilowatt rating and electrical supply. Note that the catalog lists two entries for TTSF-3135 with identical specifications but different voltage ratings (208 VAC and 480 VAC).
