SCE-HS

Supported Applications

The Omega SCE-HS Series consists of NEMA Type 4 single-door enclosures designed specifically to house standard type flange-mounted electrical disconnects. These units are engineered for environments requiring protection against windblown dust, hose-directed water, and corrosion. The series is recommended for outdoor use when equipped with a drip shield.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The SCE-HS enclosures meet NEMA Type 4, 12 & 13 standards, as well as UL Listed Type 4 & 12 and CSA Type 4 & 12 ratings. They also comply with IEC 60529 IP 66 specifications for ingress protection.

Construction utilizes 0.075" Carbon Steel with continuously welded seams ground smooth to ensure structural integrity and environmental sealing. The finish is an ANSI-61 gray powder coating applied inside and out over phosphatized surfaces, while optional panels are powder coated white. An oil-resistant gasket provides the seal for the door assembly.

Configuration Options

The series offers a range of dimensions to accommodate various disconnect sizes. Overall heights span from 24.00 to 60.00 inches, widths range from 21.38 to 37.38 inches, and depths are available in 8.00 or 12.00 inch configurations.

Key design features include:

• A continuous hinge with a stainless steel hinge pin
• Stainless steel clamps on three sides of the door (enclosures greater than 44.00 inches in height require a fourth clamp located vertically)
• A flange trough collar and disconnect cutout on the flange for mounting
• An interior print pocket and collar studs for mounting optional panels
• A ground stud mounted on the door
• No door stiffener required due to construction design

Model numbers follow the format SCE-<HEIGHT>HS<WIDTH><DEPTH>LP, such as SCE-24HS2108LP. Note that disconnect switches, circuit breakers, and operating mechanisms are not furnished with the enclosure.

Key Product Differences

Variants within the SCE-HS series differ primarily by physical dimensions to match specific flange-mounted disconnect requirements. The available configurations include:

• SCE-24HS2108LP, SCE-24HS2508LP: 24.00 inch height with widths of 21.38 and 25.38 inches respectively; both feature an 8.00 inch depth.
• SCE-30HS2508LP, SCE-36HS2508LP: Heights of 30.00 and 36.00 inches with a width of 25.38 inches; both feature an 8.00 inch depth.
• SCE-36HS3108LP, SCE-36HS3112LP: 36.00 inch height and 31.38 inch width available in either 8.00 or 12.00 inch depths.
• SCE-42HS3112LP, SCE-42HS3712LP: 42.00 inch height with widths of 31.38 and 37.38 inches; both feature a 12.00 inch depth.
• SCE-48HS3712LP, SCE-60HS3712LP: Heights of 48.00 and 60.00 inches with a width of 37.38 inches; both feature a 12.00 inch depth.

Enclosures exceeding 44.00 inches in height (specifically the SCE-48HS3712LP and SCE-60HS3712LP models) require an additional fourth clamp located vertically on the door to maintain seal integrity under NEMA Type 4 conditions.
