Supported Applications
The Omega RD100B and RD1800B series are programmable universal-input chart recorders with a digital dot-matrix display, built for indoor commercial, industrial, and business environments. Universal inputs accept thermocouple, RTD, and voltage signals, so a single recorder can log temperature, process, and analog measurements from a wide range of sensors.
Available as continuous-pen or dot-printing models with a bright interactive display, the recorders suit process monitoring, quality records, laboratory logging, and any application that needs a permanent paper trace alongside a digital readout. Programmable input types, full-scale ranges, alarms, and chart speed let the same instrument be tailored to the process being recorded.
Operating Conditions & Performance
Measurement accuracy is ±0.15% rdg + 0.5 °C (0.9 °F) for common thermocouple types, with a display resolution of 0.1 °C. Thermocouple ranges are wide: Type J covers -200 to 1100 °C (-328 to 2012 °F), Type K covers -200 to 1370 °C (-328 to 2498 °F), and Type C(W) reaches 0 to 2315 °C (32 to 4199 °F).
Direct-voltage inputs include 20 mV, 60 mV, and 200 mV spans as well as 2V, 6V, 20V, and 50V, plus a 1 to 5V range, and RTD inputs support Pt100 and JPt100 elements. Step response time is 1.5 s on the RD1800B and 1 s max on the RD100B.
- Power supply: 90 to 132, 180 to 250 Vac, 50/60 Hz standard, with an optional 24 Vdc power supply.
- Operating conditions: 0 to 50 °C (32 to 122 °F), 20 to 80% RH at 5 to 40 °C (41 to 104 °F).

Configuration Options
The two families differ mainly in chart width and channel count, while sharing the same universal inputs, digital display, and programmable configuration. Models are distinguished by recording width, the number of input channels, the recording method, and the ordered option suffixes.
Chart Width
RD100B models use a 100 mm (4") chart, and RD1800B models use a 180 mm (7") chart, so the RD1800B suits panels where a wider trace and higher channel counts are needed.
Channels and Recording Method
Continuous-pen models are offered with 1, 2, 3, or 4 pens, while dot-printing models record 6 points, and the RD1800B extends dot printing to 12, 18, and 24 points for higher-density logging.
Option Suffixes
Alarm and remote-control packages are added as suffixes such as /A1/R1 for 2 alarm outputs, /A2/R1 for 4, /A3/R1 for 6, and /A4/R1 for 12, while /C3 adds RS422A communications and /C7 adds the Ethernet interface.
Key Product Differences
A model number pairs the recorder family with its channel count and recording type. In the 100 mm family the lineup runs RD101B, RD102B, RD103B, and RD104B as 1-, 2-, 3-, and 4-pen continuous recorders, with RD106B as a 6-point dot recorder.
The 180 mm family follows the same pattern with RD1801B through RD1804B continuous-pen models and RD1806B, RD1812B, RD1818B, and RD1824B dot recorders. Ordered options and accessories include:
