Supported Applications
The OM-CP-TCTEMPX Series is a family of multi-channel thermocouple temperature data loggers available in 4, 8, 12, and 16-channel configurations. Because each unit can monitor and record many thermocouple inputs at once, it is suited to multi-point temperature monitoring and thermal profiling where several locations must be tracked simultaneously.
Support for J, K, T, E, R, S, B, and N type thermocouples lets the loggers cover applications ranging from low-temperature environments to high-temperature process measurement. Individual cold junction compensation per channel and open channel detection make the series appropriate for demanding industrial and laboratory temperature recording, and each unit ships with a NIST traceable calibration certificate for quality and compliance documentation.
- Multi-point industrial temperature monitoring
- Thermal profiling across multiple locations
- Laboratory and process temperature recording
- Applications requiring NIST traceable calibration
Operating Conditions & Performance
The internal channels measure over a temperature range of -20 °C to +60 °C (-4 °F to +140 °F) with a resolution of 0.01 °C (0.018 °F) and a calibrated accuracy of ±0.5 °C (0 °C to 50 °C). The loggers operate in an environment of -20 °C to +60 °C (-4 °F to +140 °F) and 0 %RH to 95 %RH non-condensing.
Remote thermocouple channels connect through a female subminiature (SMP) connection and accept a maximum thermocouple resistance of 1000 Ω, <100 Ω recommended, with automatic cold junction compensation based on the internal channel. Accuracy is ±0.5 °C for J, K, T, E, N thermocouples and ±2.0 °C for R, S, B thermocouples.
The reading rate ranges from 4 Hz up to 1 reading every 24 hours. Memory capacity with all channels enabled is 524,032 readings per channel on the 4-channel model, 262,016 readings per channel on the 8-channel model, 174,677 readings per channel on the 12-channel model, and 131,008 readings per channel on the 16-channel model. Data is date and time stamped in °C, °F, K, °R, mV, V, and time accuracy is ±1 minute/month.
Each unit uses a 9 V lithium battery (included and user replaceable) with an 18 months typical battery life, and connects through a USB-A to micro USB cable (included) at 460,800 baud. Start modes include software programmable immediate start or delay start, up to 6 months in advance, with digital calibration through software. The series carries CE and ROHS approvals.
Configuration Options
The four members of the series differ primarily in channel count, physical size, weight, and memory depth. The 4-channel and 8-channel models share dimensions of 2.70 in x 7.25 in x 1.22 in (65.6 mm x 184.2 mm x 31.0 mm) and weigh 13 oz (368 g). The 12-channel model measures 2.70 in x 7.25 in x 1.68 in (65.6 mm x 184.2 mm x 42.7 mm) and weighs 20 oz (580 g), while the 16-channel model measures 2.70 in x 7.25 in x 2.14 in (65.6 mm x 184.2 mm x 54.4 mm) and weighs 28 oz (800 g).
All variants accept the same thermocouple types and share the same accuracy and resolution behavior. Type J covers -210 °C to +760 °C, type K covers -270 °C to +1370 °C, type T covers -270 °C to +400 °C, type E covers -270 °C to +980 °C, type N covers -270 °C to +1300 °C, type R covers -50 °C to +1760 °C, type S covers -50 °C to +1760 °C, and type B covers +50 °C to +1820 °C.
Every variant provides individual cold junction compensation per channel, open channel detection, configurable channel names, and real time recording with a PC. The OM-CP-BAT103 replacement battery allows user servicing across all models.

Great data logger with software that's easy to use
Works great, though I'd like it if there was an option to see data real time when doing a custom start.

Rugged Stand-Alone TC Data Logger
Rugged piece of equipment that allows stand-alone logging of thermocouple data in multiple environments. Very easy to set up with the free software that is found on the OMEGA website. Retrieving the data is even easier. Just be sure to charge the battery before logging, and select the correct sample rate to avoid running out of memory. Great piece of equipment, we will be buying more in the near future.

Does the Data Logger comes with an extension to recharge the battery? If not, do we need to buy a new 9 V lithium battery? Thank you!
Thank you for your question. A 9 volt lithium battery is provided with the logger but this is not rechargeable and can be replaced by the user.
