Supported Applications
The Omega NWHMT Series is a water circulation heater designed for clean water applications. The series features a screw plug design intended for remote heating tasks where the unit circulates and heats process fluid.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The NWHMT series operates with an integral thermostat controlling temperatures from 60–250°F. Construction is rated at 150 Lb, utilizing a galvanized carbon steel pipe body (ASTM A53B) and Grade 70 carbon steel plate end disk. The heating elements consist of three copper sheath units sized to provide a loading density of 50 W/in².
Configuration Options
The series supports multiple power, voltage, and enclosure configurations as documented in the ordering guide:
- kW Ratings: Available codes include 3 kW (Code 003P), 4.5 kW (Code 04P5), 6 kW (Code 006P), 9 kW (Code 009P), 12 kW (Code 012P), 15 kW (Code 015P), and 18 kW (Code 018P).
- Power Supply: Configurable for 120, 240, or 480V in single-phase or three-phase arrangements.
- Terminal Enclosures: Options include General Purpose (Code E1) and Moisture Resistant/Explosion Resistant (Code E2). Note that the overall dimension A increases by 2" when selecting the E2 enclosure.
- Process Connection: Features a 2½" NPT screw plug design with convenient field wiring terminals for installation.
The series offers UL and CSA approvals, with other third-party listings available. The product is marked as discontinued; some specifications may no longer be valid.
Key Product Differences
Variants within the NWHMT series differ by power output (kW), voltage/phase configuration, terminal enclosure type, and resulting physical dimensions. Dimension A ranges from 21½" to 57½", while dimension B spans 9" to 45½" depending on the kW rating selected.
