Rated 1 out of 5 by from confusing chart I ordered and received heater ribbon for my radiant heater but the charts from which I tried to determine the proper thickness of ribbon was confusing for an electrical layman such as myself. Therefore, I purchased ribbon that did not allow my heater to heat to its full power, barely warming a few inches in front of it.

What is the thermal density of this wire? It states 28W/in^2 but this is a unit for thermal flux not density. Can you please clarify weather this is suppose to be a thermal density or a thermal flux?

Is there a coating or an insulation on the surface? Can this be used to heat up a metallic surface without shortcircuit risk?

I would like to heat a spherical pyrex vessel to less than 200 C. Would your silicone paste be a good way to bond this ribbon to glass?

The OT-200 is a paste and never hardens and has a low temperature rating. The cements or epoxies perhaps like OB-700 would a better choice.
